Special Agent Joel Ashford
Psychological Profiler
29 year old Joel Ashford was interested in why people did the things they
did from a very early age. During college years he particularly enjoyed
studying psychology, criminology and legal studies. Ashford now holds a Phd
in criminal psychology from Yale, and followed his older brother Daniel into
the FBI shortly after his degree was conferred.
Since Daniel, a highly regarded agent, was killed by a suspect in one of his
cases, Joel has been working hard to live up to the Ashford family
reputation. Following the success of Operation Farseek, one of his first
cases assigned to the field, he was promoted to Special Agent and is now
based in Washington.
Quite the health and fitness freak, Ashford enjoys his early morning run,
and has taken up several high risk sports such as hang gliding, white water
rafting, bungy jumping and rock climbing. Lately, however, he has been
forced to take things a little easier due to recent surgery for bowel
cancer.
Ashford has also developed an interest in the occult. As a result of his
travels, he has put together quite an extensive collection of amulets and
other talismans. His latest acquisition is an Indian dream catcher.
Joel Ashford is of fairly nondescript appearance with brown eyes and short
dark brown hair that looks like it is never combed. He stands five foot nine
tall, weighing 85 kilos. When working he usually wears the standard dark
suit, and tends to favour Nike sports gear. Close friends have recently
noticed with puzzlement that Ashford turns an odd shade of grey whenever the
word "prostitute" is mentioned in his presence.
