The core plot was as follows: Three nights ago, all Vampiric disciplines except the three physical disciples, stopped working. At all. No one seems to know why. Clan Tremere and Clan Malkavian have both disappeared. The players are either sent to, or are interested in, find out why and fix it.
Unfortunately, the effect is caused by an astrological conjunction of some sort - the Realms of the Dead, from which the vampires draw their powers, are cut off from the normal world, and until the conjunction stops, no one has access to anything except limited forms of Potence, Celerity and Fortitude.
It is possible to regain your powers in this time - in order to do so, you must forge a strong personal link between yourself and the Realms of the Dead. In the case of Vampires, they must be staked for a short time, and then released - one this is done, their powers will be restored.
No Kindred seems to know anything about this conjunction... except Clan Malkavian. Amongst Angelo's insane ravings (which every other kindred ignores as being the babbling of an idiot) was a Prophecy of the Time of More Fun. Between them, Angelo, Pavel and Joy worked out how they could avoid being powerless. They decided that it was time to get a measure of revenge on the Kindred of the city who have fairly much been universally horrid to them (to be fair, the Malkavians in question are barking). Eric asked to join so that he could help people, and the others agreed.
The remaining Kindred spent one night in chaos - no powers worked, the smart left the city, the powerful tooled up. The next night, a lot of communication was done between the remaining Kindred, and a meeting place was set to get together and try and fix the problems. The Malkavians spent this time preparing for the best bits of More Fun and working out some personal problems.
At the night of the meeting, the Kindred of the city get together and pool their information. The Malkavian's storm the Tremere chantry and fill it with yogart. (Why yogart? Joy said it would give them some culture. Pavel because he knew it would irritate them beyond anything else that could happen short of setting it on fire, and that would draw attention. Angelo insisted that it was strawberry yogart, because it reminded him of chunks of tremere stranded in it). In the process, they capture the Tremere chantry leader and after carefully removing his arms and legs, they perform some remedial surgery - his head and heart were carefully removed from the body (connected together - he was still alive) and placed in a box. David Hawthorne was now Mr Head.
