Terms:

All dates are based on the Thyatian calender. The year begins on the first day of spring. Some dates are fairly vague, and only well-read historians will know details.

Most of this history directly relates to Darokin, or important countries around it.

BC 2,000 Bronze and Iron Age cultures in the D&D world.
BC 1,000 Karameikos: Western gnollish tribes invade Traldar territory. The Traldar and gnolls practically annihilate one another.By the time the gnolls retreat,the Traldar population is 20% of its pre-invasion amount.The Traldar Golden Age has ended and its Dark Age has begun.
Circa 1,000 Alphatian Landfall. The Alphatians land to the east of the known world and begin to carve an empire. Alphatian Year 0 AY
BC 800 Darokin: Human clans begin building permanent settlements in Darokin.
Circa BC 700 Five Shires: The Time of Heroes. Hin warrior-adventurers flourish in the land, eventually reclaiming much of it from the invaders. Rebuilding of a hin kingdom begins.
BC 700 Alfheim: Mealiden acclaimed king of Alfheim.
BC 609 Five Shires: The Restoration. Elders proclaim Gunzuth the Clanless as First Sheriff of Shaerdon. He rules wisely and well. The land prospers.
BC 600 Thyatis: Warriors of three tribes (Thyatians, Hattians, Kerendans), migrate to the northern continent.
BC 572 Five Shires: Death of Gunzuth, Shaerdon split into five Shires, each ruled by a Sheriff, the whole being ruled by a Council of the five Sheriffs. The Golden Years begin.
BC 500 Karameikos: The Traldar are in the midst of their Dark Age. Communication between communities is infrequent. Local dialects begin to widely differ The national epic of King Halav is the only thing that gives the people a sense of unity. Linguistic changes are already advanced enough that the people consider themselves Traladara, descendants of the Traldar, the people of King Halav.

Alfheim: The mighty Canolbarth Forest springs full-grown from the land, created by the might of elven wizards

Thyatis: By now, the Thyatians, Kerendans and Hattians have conquered and assimilated the human tribes who opposed them, they are now in full control of the region which will one day be called Thyatis.

BC 492 Rockhome: The Rockhome borders are finally secured against the nonhumans in the Battle of Sardal Pass. This is Year 0 in the dwarven calendar.
BC 350 Alfheim: Mealiden abdicates the throne. Alevar of the Grunalf clan becomes king of Alfheim.
BC 192 Alphatia: The Alphatians decide to bring Thyatis into the Empire.
BC 190 Alphatia: The Alphatians finally finish subduing the Thyatians.
BC 2 Thyatis: Govenor Lucinius Trenzantenbium of Kerandas assassinates Alphatian wizards, declares himself King of Thyatis. The first Great War between Thyatis and Alphatia begins.
AC 0 Thyatis: Thyatian-Alphatia War is at a standstill. Economies of both nations wrecked. King Lucinius and Emperor Alphas VI conclude a peace treaty in the neutral city of Edairo on the Isle of Dawn. Lucinius returns to Thyatis with the kings of Ochalea and the Pearl Islands to conduct treaties with them, his chief general, Zendrolion, assassinates all three and, with the military's support, crowns himself Emperor Zendrolion I Tatriokanitas ( Crowning of the First Thyatian Emperor), his first activity is the conquest of the Pearl Islands and Ochalea.

Karameikos: The Traladara begin a period of regrowth as trade is slowly established with southern peoples. Peaceable demihumans (the Highforge gnomes) settle in Traladara territories, warlike demihumans (goblins, hobgoblins, orcs) do as well, in lesser numbers.

AC 20 Thyatis: Emperor Zendrolion dies, his wife, Valentia the Justiciar makes her Citizens' proclaimation.
AC 21 Darokin: Ansel Darokin declares himself king of Darokin,beginning the regin of the Eastwind Kings.
AC 87 Darokin: Aden I killed by orcs,ending the reign of the Eastward Kings.
AC 88 Darokin: Orcs make major gains against the leaderless Darokin humans,forcing the elves of Alfheim to support Corwyn Attleson as a comprimise choice to lead Darokin. The reign of the Darokin kings begins.
AC 100 Alheim: Celedryl of the Erendyl clan is crowned king of Alheim.
AC 122 Darokin: Corwyn I dies after a long and successful reign.His son,Corwyn II,assumes power
AC 150 Ylaruam: Early Thyatian colonies along modern Ylaruam's SE coastal plain and foothills of Altan Tepe range. Alasiyan populations driven into desert, enslaved or assimilated. Some move to Darokin.
AC 250 Ylaruam: Thriving Thyatian colonies. Early Alphatian colonies along northern and central coastal plain. Alasiyans driven out or enslaved.

Darokin: Many of the displaced Alasiyans move to Darokin.

AC 293 Darokin: Last of the orc tribes driven from Darokin
AC 313 Thyatia: The Hattians rebel and declare themselves an independent kingdom. Emperor Alexian II defeats them and reestablishes Thyatian preeminence over the northern part of the country.
AC 400 Karameikos: The village of Marilenev begins doing more trade business than fishing and begins slow, gradual growth from increasing trade. Thyatian clerics learn the "Song of King Halav" and commit it to writing for the first time. Also, traders bearing the curses of vampirism and lycanthropy settle in Traladara's deep woods and flourish there.
AC 450 Glantri: The city of Braejr is built
AC 500 The empires of Thyatis and Alphatia conduct their first colonial disputes. These disputes (wars) will continue for three centuries.

Ylaruam: Intermittent warfare between Thyatian and Alphatian colonies in following three centuries. Constant feuding among Alasiyan tribes. Colonies in decline.

Alfheim: The beast man invasion of the wizard Illodius scars the magical forests.Alfheim Town founded in the blighted area.

AC 502 Darokin: Seige on Corunglain lifted. Darokin Punitive Expedition massacred and devoured in Trollhattan. Scandal in Darokin.
AC 501-504 Darokin: The Elfwar
AC 520 Darokin: Second Punitive Expedition massacred in Kol. First caravans try to cross tribelands
AC 522 Darokin: Second Seige of Corunglain. Villages torched
AC 523 Darokin: Big Chief Sitting Drool ransacks Corunglain. The city falls to orc armies. Thousands are killed and the entire city is looted. Enslaved population taken back to Broken Lands.
AC 525 Darokin: Third Punitive Expedition from Glantri and Darokin. Sitting Drool brought back in chains.
AC 526 Darokin: Sitting Drool traded for slaves and gold taken from Corunglain, causing great political uproar in Darokin. Truce with Darokin and Glantri
AC 527 Adventurers assasinate Sitting Drool.
AC 575 Five Shires: Ierendi islands used by hin as naval bases year-round for the first time. Hin build large numbers of small, stout rounded ships (nicknamed "wallowing turtles" by human sailors for their comical appearance in high seas) which prove astonishingly sturdy. Halfling seaborne trade flourishes.
AC 586 Five Shires: The Empire of Thyatis, at war with the Empire of Alphatia and needing ships and shipbuilding harbours urgently, seizes Ierendi islands from the halflings with all ships in harbour at the time. In retaliation,halflings begin piracy against Thyatian shipping, which continues to this day.
AC 600 Alfheim: The Feadiel clan arrive in Alfheim.
AC 700 Ylaruam: Frictions between Alphatian and Thyatian colonies in the Alasiya become more pronounced, raiding and skirmish warfare become common.

Alfheim: Doriath, a former adventurer, assumes the throne of Alfheim. The Erewan faction of Erendyl clan leaves Alfheim for Glantri.

Five Shires: Huge orc horde invades the northern Shires. The orcs are drawn skillfully into a trap and destroyed in the Battle of Blackflame.

AC 723 Darokin: Santhral II dies, ending the reign of the Darokin Kings.
AC 728 Ylaruam: Alphatian colonies in Alasiya get the upper hand and destroy several Thyatian colonies entirely. Rumors of good lands in the western Flaemish lands lure the disgruntled Thyatian survivors, many of whom decide to pioneer there.
AC 730 Glantri: Settlers come to Glantri, including fair elves (descendants of the elves who fled the area in BC 1,700) and humans from Traldara and Thyatian colonies in Ylaruam. Frictions begin between Flaemish and the settlers.
AC 784 Glantri: A Thyatian settler kills a Flaemish lord, war is declared.
AC 785 Glantri: Battle of Braejr, settlers are driven south of the Vesubia.
AC 786 Glantri: An Alphatian lord named Halzunthram arrives in Flaemish lands, sides with the Thyatian-Elvish coalition, and defeats the Flaems, effectively assuming control of the area.
AC 788 Glantri: The Flaemish are defeated at the Battle of Braastar, Halzunthram captures the council, Glantri becomes an Alphatian dominion, elves become independant, the Flaemish unite with the Thyatians and revolt.
AC 800 Ylaruam: Birth of Suleiman Al-Kalim.
AC 802 Glantri: Years of Infamy

Rockhome: The Glantrian gold rush, plague, and bizarre aftermath result in irreconcilable hatred of the dwarves for the Glantrians.

AC 826 Ylaruam: Al-Kalim captures Cinsa-Men-Noo,Parsa and Ctesiphon, unites Makistani and Alasiyani tribes under banner of Eternal Truth.
AC 827 Ylaruam: Campaign agaianst Alphatian overlords ends with sucessful siege of Jaboor, removing Alphatian presence in region.
AC 828 Glantri: The last dwarves are expelled from Glantri and Lord Alexander Glantri,of Thyatian descent, ambushes Halzunthram, confirms the regions independence, the Alphatians are defeated, marking the end of the Forty Years War. The city of Braejr is renamed Glantri,in his honour.

AC 828-830 Ylaruam: Campaign against Thyatian overlords ends with the sucessful siege of Tameronikas, driving Thyatian influence from region.
AC 831 Ylaruam: Founding of Confederate tribes of the Emirates of Ylaruam.
AC 846 Darokin: Orc horde from the Broken Lands loots Ardelphia, utterly destroying the city.
AC 855 Ylaruam: Composition of the Nahmeh.
AC 858 Ylaruam: Establishment of the Eternal University and Council of the Preceptors in Ylaruam.

Glantri: Nobility is reserved for wizards only, council members gain the hereditary title of Prince.

AC 875 Glantri: The School of Magic is completed.
AC 898 Glantri: New immigration wave, the population mixes freely, frictions decrease.
AC 900 Karameikos: Marilenev is a flourishing trade village of 500. Thyatis' new emperor begins a new expansionist policy. The Empire of Thyatis moves on Marilenev, conquers it and claims all the Traladara region as a Thyatian protectorate. Marilenev is renamed "Specularum".

Thyatia: The Thyatians conquer and settle more of the Isle of Dawn, put pressure on the Northern Reaches, and build and settle the city of Oceansend in Norwold.

Ylaruam: Death of Al-Kalim.

Darokin: Refugees from Traladara flee to Darokin.

AC 920 Glantri: Economic agreement signed between Glantri and Darokin, allowing free passage for all merchant caravans. Business is booming in Glantri City.
AC 927 Darokin: The Great Merger. Darokin's largest and richest merchant families agree on a central government for the entire country. Charles Mauntea picked to lead Darokin, beginning the reign of the Merhant Kings.
AC 932 Darokin: Lydia Mauntea takes over after the death of her husband, Charles. She assumes the title 'Chancellor'.
AC 934 Darokin: Chancellor Mauntea calls the Second Great Merchants' Council. Many of the reforms started in 927 are finalised, including the election of a new president upon the death of the current leader by a standing Council of 15 major merchants.
AC 938 Thyatia: A peasant boy, Thrainkell Torson, is born to a Thyatian mother and a Vestland father in Oceansend.
AC 948 Karameikos: Stefan Karameikos III born.
AC 949 Darokin: Vardon Kalimi named Chancellor after the death of Lydia Mauntea.
AC 956 Thyatia: Peasant warrior Thrainkell Torson becomes a gladiator in Thyatis City, is called Thincol Torion (the best Thyatian-language equivilent of his name) and later Thincol the Brave.
AC 959 Alphatia: The Alphatian Emperor, angered by another Thyatian broken treaty, commits his military to a sudden assault on Thyatis. Thyatian positions on the Isle of Dawn are overrun, the Alphatian forces spend the winter on the Isle of Dawn preparing to assault the Thyatian homeland.
AC 960 Thyatia: The Alphatian Spike assault reaches the Thyatian mainland, Alphatian forces enter Thyatis City and kill Emperor Gabrionus V. Gladiator Thincol the Brave, with galditorial and military forces, rescue Gabrionus' daughter Gabriela and drive the Alphatians out. Thincol marries Gabriela and assassinates generals until the military is of his mind, and has himself crowned Thincol I Torion. Oceansend, in Norwold, takes this opportunity to throw off Thyatian control and declare itself independent. It takes Thyatis two full years to reclaim lost territories on the Isle of Dawn.
AC 962 Alphatia: Princess Eriadna of Alphatia politely suggests that her father, Emperor Tylion IV, retire from the crown. He does so, and she is crowned Empress Eriadna the Wise of Alphatia.
AC 970 Karameikos: Stefan Karameikos III sells his ancestral lands to the Emperor of Thyatis for independant rulership of the Traladara region, which is renamed the Grand Duchy of Karameikos. Duke Stefan sails to and takes possesion of his duchy, and begins parcelling out land and titles to his Thyatian followers. He begins building roads across the Duchy and a strong military to protect it.
AC 971 Darokin: Corwyn Hoff named chancellor after the resignation of Kalimi.
AC 975 Darokin: Rypien Hallonica named Chancellor after the death of Hoff
AC 985 Alphatia: Empress Eriadna of Alphatia decides to colonise in the west, and has a new fortress city built atop the ruins of the station at Cape Alpha destroyed nine and a half centuries before.
AC 988 Darokin: After Hallonica's death, the Merchant's Council names Corwyn Mauntea, great-grandson of Charles and Lydia, Chancellor.
AC 989 Five Shires: Large numbers of Traladarans fleeing the Black Eagle Barony prompt Baron von Hendriks to invade the Shires. Three successive expeditions from Fort Doom are annihilated by hin ere Hendriks turns his attentions elsewhere.
AC 991 Minrothad: Oran Meditor rescinds the Isolation Act and opens Minrothad to outside contact.
AC 992 Alphatia: Empress Eriadna acedes to her son Ericall's demands for a kingdom of his own. She gives him the city of Alpha in Norwold, the empty title of king in that nation and a great degree of autonomy.
AC 999 Today.

Karameikos: Duke Stefan rules a progressive nation, beginning to influence international affairs. Still, many of the older citizens hold old grudges.

Darokin: A period of quiet has lead to great prosperity within Darokin.

Ylaruam: Modern period under governance of sultans from Preceptors faction of Al-Kalim's descendants. Culture and economy flourishes.

Five Shires: Troubles have begun to stir in the Shires again, it is a time for adventurers.
