Hello, you are reading an invite to a roleplaying game. Please read: (1) if you are a Real Man (2) if you are a Real Roleplayer (3) if you are a Real Looney (4) if you are a Real Munchkin (see http://arcadia.buseco.monash.edu.au/~eccles/sunfant/munchies.txt for an explanation of the differences. Or ask for a mailed copy) Hi, I am toying with the idea of starting up a game on alternate Sundays. I'm planning to run a fantasy, with: (1) lots of chances to be heroic, fight dragons and rescue the world (2) lots of freedom to explore your character, and their relationships with the rest of the people you hang with (3) stashes of cream custard pies + 4 (4) lots of easily killed monsters with artifacts The world background is D&D, using the gazeteers that they put out ages ago. The country you would be starting in is called Darokin, which (1) has lots of wilderness areas to explore and a meritocracy to rise up through, until you can become a Champion of the realm (2) abounds in political intrigue, at a local, national and international level, where one of the main powers is the Darokin Diplomatic Corps. (3) has humerous racial stereotypes to play (4) has lots of easily killed monsters with artifacts. I am planning to use... (1) a modified Storyteller system, (because I like it) (2) that system I obsess over rather than moving to freeforms (3) jellowrestling (4) not AD&D ... as the system. At the moment I have plans to start you off as... (1) young and eager soontobeheros (2) naive, but refreshing, young people ready to make a move on their world (3) hicks (4) first level characters ... in a small village. You would... (1) all be firm friends (2) unite despite your differences (although they will be played out in intricate detail until resolved) (3) wear pink tutus and sing a lot (4) unite to kill monsters and take their artifacts ... to form a Company (small mercenary irregular group) to make your fortunes, etc. I'll tell you I'd like you to play because... (1) you help the plot move through by sensible cooperating (2) you provide interesting character interaction which can provide a reflection on the world you reside in (3) you're good for a laugh. (4) I know you like roleplaying ... but really (1) you're easy to manipulate (2) who needs to make up plot if the characters do it themselves (3) you're good for a laugh. (4) I can't get rid of you. The sort of structure I'm looking at is a bi-monthly game on Sundays, starting at 11am and finisheding around 5-6pm. I want to run it so that you can miss sessions without stopping the game because... (1) I know sometimes sport-stuff is on Sundays (2) your rehearsals are occasionally on weekends (3) you have to prepare for the court case (4) your mum sometimes grounds you .. and I figure it could still be played as long as we had half/majority of the players. Please get back to me if you're interested. Damien
