During his years in high school, Angus struggled through his schooling but his natural abilities held him in good standing within the sporting arena. He longed to research the classics, to discover the ways of the past, but he found it hard to concentrate on them. The closest he came was an avid interest in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. And all the while, his parents pushed him into the local soccer and swimming teams.
After completing his HSC, Angus wandered around for a while. Although he was guaranteed a job within his father's gardening business, his felt a deep passion to move from his restrictive home and decided to wander for a while.
Traveled along the coast.
He reached as far as Nimbin, where he discovered his true nature. He was about to leave the area when he met the love of his life, Rhiannon MacIntosh. His passions were fueled with her wild spirit, and yet, tempered by her rationality and fragility. Once she finished the documentary she was working on, they left together to move into her home in Melbourne.
He broke the news to his parents once he hit Melbourne, and they were devastated. His mother always pictured an Italian wife with the marriage to go along with it. His father, whilst pleased his son had found a good stout woman (and secretly pleased he chose a partner from his part of the world), was very upset at not having him continue on with the family business. To this day, they call twice a week and try to convince him to move back to his real home and away from that nasty and dangerous business.
