Dom is woken in the middle of the night by an odd sound out her window. She looks out and sees a faintly luminescent stag. It manages to mime beckoning and then heads towards the forest. She opts to head down the outside wall, but half way down wakes John up who comes down with her as well. He cannot see any stag. They head into the end of the gardens, with all the hedge mazes before John heads back to talk to a guard and ask him if the guard can see the stag. No, apparently. Dominique keeps heading after the stag, and when John gets back, he can't immediately see them. He tries to follow the scent, but it doubles back and forth and around and once up a tree. Dominique appears to be gone, although the still have their mental link.
Dom relays back that she is still following the stag. It keeps a fair way ahead of her, and is leading her deeper into the forest. After a while the stag stops at the edge of a glade, and seems to vanish. Dom creeps closer and can see a small cabin in the midst of the glade. There is a figure hidden in the shadow of the porch. She tries to make herself invisible. Shortly another figure emerges from the other side of the glade, a woman with raven dark hair and a dark gown. The figure on the porch steps forward, and Dom can see that it is Lysander. She can hear the voices clearly as the woman says "What is this power you have o'er me?" Lysander responds "No less than thine o'er mine heart? Come love, I have brought food and wine". The two of them go inside.
Dom sneaks up to the window and peeks gently inside. Lysander and the woman are being obviously intimate, although not explicitly so. She sits there for a moment or two and tries to overhear, but the woman's voice says "Did I hear something outside?" and Dom runs for it and hides at the edge of the forest. After a fairly long time, the two come out of the cabin. They bid a fairly fond farewell, and then the woman turns into a flock of ravens and flies away. Lysander watches her go and then becomes a cloud of stars and also flies away. Stag reappears and guides Dominique back to the castle, collecting the very lost John on the way. They return and wake the rest of the pack.
