EDIT THE MASTER COPY!!! ***Monday 1st April*** | Sitting at home, reading Dante's Inferno when you hear a noise | out the back. Following it down to the kitchen, it resolves itself | into the sound of a cat, mrouwing. The back door is open, creaking | slightly in the breeze. You see the cat move out through the door, | still mrouwing. | It moves over to the garbage bins, mrouwing behind it. Now | you can hear the sound of kittens, mewling quietly. As you look | behind the bins, you can see a man, folded up to hide - he leaps | forward, hands extended like claws, and you'd swear he had fangs. | Everything goes dark. | You come to, several hours later by the feel of it. The cold | cobblestones at your back are damp with dew, and light streams from your | backdoor into the alley. You have a bump on the back of your head. Dante | mewls next to you. | You stagger back inside and shut the door. Trembling, you start | to make yourself a cup of chamomile tea. You notice the letter on the bench, | and open and read it. It proclaims you to be a vampire, one of the Undead. | It is signed with an 'S'. | Thinking that it all must be some practical joke, you drink your | tea, then find yourself in convulsions of nausea as your stomach rebels | against the tea. You decide to ring the police. | The police operator assures you that someone will be there quickly, | and takes your details. Within a few minutes there is a knocking at the front | door, and you can see two young police constables standing at the front door | of the shop. | They come in, and take a report from you as to what happened, checking | the rubbish bins and taking the letter. When you mention the tea incident, | they decide that they should take you to the hospital, just as a precaution. | They bundle you out to the police car, and it wails its way up | Brunswick St, to the nearby hospital. You are hustled into an emergency bed, | and in about ten minutes a nurse comes in and checks you over for signs of | the assault. She takes your blood pressure and heart rate, and gets a little | concerned, as both are extremely low. She takes your temperature, and panics. | ("Nooobody expects the anal thermometer"). You are surrounded with electric | blankets and such. However, after several hours of observation, where your | temperature rises to near body temperature, they decide to release you. The | two young policemen take you back home, and ask if you perhaps have a friend | who could come over and stay for a night or two. | You think automatically of Jasper. He might come and stay. | Jasper agrees to come over, but sounds a bit strange and unsure | of himself. The police leave then, telling you they'll check up in a couple | of days, but in the meantime keep an eye out for this guy. | Jasper turns up with a strange man who says his name is Kieran. He | claims that you too are a vampire. You then realise he said 'too'. He says | he has made Jasper a vampire and he is one. You're beginning to think it is | all one big bad joke. * There is a big argument over how this could have happened and some * furniture redesigning, and then a somewhat intense argument over freewill. * Jasper is told he can't go and see his sick mum in England, nor may he * bring her over. In the end, everyone is barrelled off to Kieran's house * in Northcote. ***Tuesday 2nd April*** * You both awaken at Kieran's house. The alarm clocks next to you * say '7pm'. Which is weird, cos they have no mouths. Kieran knocks on your * doors and says to get ready to go somewhere. * You are both bundled into Kieran's Saab and driven over the * Westgate bridge to Williamstown or Altona or something. You really couldn't * say. You end up at a rave in a not-yet-occupied warehouse. There are a lot * of cars around, and quite a few people. Even from outside you can hear the * pounding of a bass. * Kieran drags you both inside, paying the guy at the door. Inside * the music is all but pounding the concrete off the walls. | The music is just raucous noise as far as you can tell. No melody | or anything. Jasper seems to like it, Kieran is ignoring it. * As you are sitting around, watching Kieran move around, talking to * people, and looking at the aliens^H^H^H^H^H goths, you happen to see someone * you recognise - Ari - come in with an Austrlian-looking guy in black leather * and jeans. He looks around, sees you, and heads your way. Ari emits surprise about Jasper and Marisa's presence, but Jasper and Marisa arent terribly forthcoming. You all chat (yell) a bit, but there are numerous uncomfortable silences. The DJ puts on "Bloodletting", but it only gets 3 bars in before he is punched out by someone and the music is changed. * Kieran talks briefly with the guy that Ari came in with, and with * a bunch of other people as well. He speaks to some guy in 19thC period goth dress, a punk with tall, multicoloured spiked hair, another older guy in what you would call a 'teacher' costume. All of these people look a little... pale. * The guy that Ari came in with comes over towards you, scowling a * little as if something was wrong. There is a brief lull in the music as he * talks with Ari, and you can hear what he says. Iain, a little sharply "Do you know these two?" Ari, confused "Yeah..." Iain, a little freaked "Do you know they are vampires too?" Ari answers intelligently - "Huh?" Mass confusion arises as people realise each other are evil bloodsucking creatures of the night(tm). Once it has been sorted out that Ari was made by Iain, Jasper by Kieran and Marisa by the Phantom, people consider the freaky nature of this occurence. What a coincidence. * Kieran comes barrelling up to Jasper, barely nods to the rest of * you. He grabs Jasper aside and seems to be brainwas^H^H^H^H^H talking to * him. * Iain says quietly (as he can) to Ari and Marisa that Jasper is * 'from Perth' now. Just accept it. Jasper returns to the pc-pile and looks confused. Its a sort of camoflague reaction. Kieran returns to talking avidly with people, esp the guy in the ruffle shirt. Iain suddenly looks inspired, herds you all together and towards Kieran and ruffle-shirt-man. As you approach, you are struck by the thought that he looks almost as if he is holding court at a festival. Iain interrupts Kieran and says "Howard, if Jasper is from Perth, then he is free to go where he will, correct? And seeing I'm already babysitting Ari here, why I don't I help him and Marisa adjust to Melbourne as well." Kieran tries to interrupt "I don't think that.." Iain keeps going "Well, being from Perth, Jasper can make his own decision, free of his Sire or anyone like that, _can't_ he, Howard?" Howard smiles slightly "That is correct, according to custom." "So what do you want to do, Marisa, Jasper?" | You take a look at Kieran's face, slowly turning purple, and almost | decide to go with the flow rather than cause trouble, but you are prempted | by Jasper. | Jasper says "I think I'll go with you for a bit, if you don't mind." | You don't really want to be seperated from him, so you change your mind to | going with Iain and say so. Kieran all but has steam coming out of his ears, so Howard jestures to a couple of burly men, who drag him outside. Howard suggests to Iain that he take you all out the back way. Now. Iain concurs, and you are all taken around to a ute, Ari is made to climb in the back, while Jasper and Maresa are in the cabin with Iain. Everyone trundles back to Iain's house, in Camberwell. Once there Iain settles them into some rooms so that they are comfortable and explains some more about being a vampire. He also mentions there is a conclave on the next day. *Wednesday 3rd April* Jasper, Ari and Marisa wake up at Iain's at about 6:45. They get ready and head off to 15 Collins St, as this is apparently where the conclave is to be. Marisa is presented as a lost kindred. Alex tastes her blood and says that he can't tell what clan she is or who her Sire is (due to a Thaumaturgical ward)... although she is 8th Generation. She is told that she will be permitted to stay but she must drink Alex's blood 3 times. Marisa freaks a little, but does it. Aristotle is presented as being Iain's rightful childer, to be released whenever Iain thinks he is ready. Jasper is presented as being a Brujah 'from Perth'. Alex makes some enquiries as to whether he was involved in the fall of Lumley. Jasper says that he was just Embraced a short while ago, and left because the city was far too chaotic. He is told as long as he obeys the rules of the city, he is welcome to stay. People gently mix, socially. They are introduced to some more of the kindred around the city, including Anita and Lord Alfred. Anita seems fairly interested in Marisa. After a couple of hours, everyone trundles back to Mr Iain's house, where he continues their education in Kindred matters. Today's lesson: "What's a blood bond?" * Thursday 4th April * | You awaken with the taste of blood on your lips. You can't help | but lick them and taste the bitter sweet iron taste. There is a note next | to your bed... | "Take lightly from animals, take directly from men | Take sweetly from women, take gently from children" | S | You take it and the story to Iain. Iain says that that could be dangerous - it means that Marisa has drunk twice from her Sire, if it is the same person. It will only take one more drink to blood bond her to her Sire. Everyone hunts around for a while. Supposition is made that the person responsible, if a vampire, would have to have slept nearby. All head for 15 Collins St again, where to find Alex. Jasper and Ari wait with the ute whilst Marisa and Iain go inside. | Once inside Alex's office, you drink from the goblet of blood on | the table... mmm, yummie. You should Alex the note and tell him of your | sire's blood on your lips. You are asked to wait outside. | Waiting in front of the elevators when they arrive at your level. | Kieran steps out. There is some brief, relatively civil talk. Iain comes | out of the office. He and Kieran have some _very_ brief civil talk, and | Kieran goes into the office. Iain looks into your eyes and tells you to | sleep. Snore. Marisa comes to as you pull up. She looks dazed and confused. But then again, so do all of you. Inside, its a loverly house. Lots of security, some blacked out bedrooms, televisions. None of it looks particularily new, but neither does it look well used. | A dull night, beyond Jasper's playing his base and swearng and | Ari screaming in the cellar. You continue your way through Dante's | Inferno. After the exciting evening, everyone goes nighty night at about 5:45am. * Friday 5th April * | As you stir awake at about 6:50, you stretch and nearly knock | over the pot that is sitting on your bedside table. You notice that your | bedroom door is open too. You yell for Ari and Jasper. Jasper and Ari barrell into Marisa's room to find her sitting on the bed, pointing at a pot. Jasper moves over and picks it up before anyone can say otherwise. People hunt around the house, and find how the pot-carrier got it. He has overridden the security on one of the doors, and forced it open. It is decided to take this all to Alex. Everyone jumps in the car and woosh, off they go. Once at 15 Collins St, they arrive to find Alex reading some papers on his desk. There is a goblet of blood sitting there. They show the pot to Alex. He says it was a Thaumaturgical thing - very simple to construct. It switches the blood on the inside of the pot with the blood of the person touching it. All eyes swing to Jasper. Jasper asks whether it is safe to break it. Alex nods, and Jasper breaks open the seal and drinks his blood back again. Alex indicates that Marisa is to drink for the 3rd time. Marisa prevaricates a bit, and Jasper makes a long speech about personal freedom. Ari and Jasper are asked to leave, Iain will meet them in the foyer. | Once Ari and Jasper leave, Alex leans back on his chair. He says | that he will not forced you to drink the last drink, but will leave it | hanging for the slightest offence. You and Alex have a long discussion | as to what the blood bond involves, what it will do to you, and safety | and security. In the end, you decides better the devil you know rather | than your sire who also seems keen on blood bonding you, and you drink | the blood down. Alex bids you a good evening and returns to his work. Marisa comes down the lifts and says she drank the third drink. All seem a little bit non-plussed, but shrug and continue on. Ari and Marisa express an interest in going to an Easter service, while Jasper goes to work. * You go to St Pauls for the easter service. It feels strange * to cross into the church. Everything is making you feel a bit skittish, * from the devotional candles at the entrance to the tapers being passed * around. You last through the service without being smote by God, so * maybe you aren't the Damned after all. * You leave the church and Ari drives Marisa back to her house. * Marisa collects together her collection of antique knives and half-swords * so that she has something to do at Iain's. You drive back to Iain's. Saturday 6th April. You all wake to the sound of steel on steel. Ari and Jasper rush out the see what is going on, while Marisa follows at more timid speed. In Iain's lounge room is Iain, fighting with a tall guy. They are knife fighting, and both seem equally good at it. The parlour door is open, as if the unknown guy came in through it. He seems to be fighting a retreat. Iain lunges and stabs the guy, then spin-kicks the knife deep into his chest. Everyone gasps. The assailant stumbles back, and Iain moves forward to finish him. The unknown recovers suddenly, and grabs one of Marisa's knives that she left in the lounge and hurls it at Iain. Iain is knocked backwards and over by the force of the blow. The unknown escapes. Everyone clusters around Iain, who has a Malaysian kris embedded in his sturnum. He looks dead, right up to the point where he opens his eyes and says "ouch". Iain hauls the knife from his chest, and the wound heals over as you watch. After some investigation, no one can see where the unknown guy seems to have gone, Iain puts the neighbours off from calling the police and asks that Marisa put away her toys before she goes to bed. Iain gets you all to pack your stuff. Iain drives to 15 Collins St and goes inside, taking his boots, telling you to wait outside. He comes back out without his boots. You are going hunting (because he is hungry for some reason) and then to an unnamed destination. If Marisa's sire knows about this haven, and found you at Alex's, it would be nice to know if he could follow you further than that. Everyone zooms off to a club in Iain's car. Iain goes back for seconds and then thirds. (I think Jasper and Ari may have fed too.). After about 2 hours, everyone gets into Iain's car and zooms off. Southeast. Towards Cranbourne. Then a left. And a right onto a dirt road. Around a bit. To a small, (almost fortress like) flat-sized house on the dirt road. Inside you all go, and then sleeping arrangements are discovered. Everyone sleeps in one big pile. Exciting night, what? Sunday 7th April Everyone wakes up and looks at Marisa. Nope, no blood, nor no message. Woohoo. He can't follow you here. Right, says Iain, we have somewhere to hide. Don't tell anyone about this place. Zoom, back into Melbourne, calling in to Iain's house for some stuff. You drive out to Royal Park, near the zoo, where a bunch of people seem to be beating the crap out of each other. Anita is sitting on a log fence, as are a couple of the other people. Iain says that this is a Gangrel meeting before you get out, so don't offend anyone. You all get out and watch the action. Anita comes over and says hi, as 5 men pile onto Rachel. She throws 3 of them off before the remaining two knock her down. The three she threw off and Rachel move out of the scrum. Iain introduces you all again. He wants Rachel to taste Marisa's blood. He thinks that she might be able to help. Rachel bites Marisa and sucks, rolling the blood around in her mouth. Rachel's prognosis is that "We are cousins at best. You are not Gangrel." Rachel wanders back to a large group of Gangrel, and sits amongst them. Anita asks you to wait, and joins the group. You hear snatches of conversation. "He's done it again." "Insufferable arrogance" "..trying to control our movements...". They don't name names, but they don't sound happy either. The discussion breaks up and Anita comes over again and speaks you. She would like to take Marisa to visit someone who might be able to help with discovering who Marisa's sire is. The others can't come - its a clan thing, you wouldn't understand. Iain and Marisa agree, and Marisa gets into Anita's car while Iain watches the gangrel and thinks. | Once you are in the car, Anita says to you that you must swear never | to reveal what you are going to see to anyone, even if they seem to have | knowledge of it already. You agree, and she starts the car up and drives out | through the north of the city, towards the mountains. There is a brief | wobble when you tell Anita that Alex said you were 8th Generation. Anita | says she is 13th. | You drive through some small mountain towns, and park in a National | park lot. You walk for about 30 minutes through somewhat damp folliage. Anita | leads you along some obviously mostly unused pathways. As you reach a clear | paddock, someone steps out of the folliage. Anita addresses him as Phil. He | says "Challenge". Anita says "You can't be serious." | "Challenge" | "Ok... as challengee, I chose the challenge." Phil looks attentative. | "The challenge is one of luck and foresight." Phil looks a trifle | concerned. | "When?" | "Now." Anita pulls a gun from her waistband and fires once into Phil's | chest. "Lucky I had the gun, eh?". You are somewhat shocked by this, but | Anita treats it as normal. | She leads you across the grassy paddock to a gate. The gate is in | a fence around a homestead-style house, quite large, with gum trees set | around the place. On the other side of the house is a large carpark, filled | with expensive looking cars. | You go inside, and find Caitlin. Caitlin is a tall young woman, | about your age, with long blond hair. She walks really strangely, but you | can't pin it down. She says that Travis will be with you shortly. | After maybe 15 minutes of chatting, Travis comes in. He introduces | himself to you, and Anita explains the problem. He asks for some of your | blood, which he explains he can do experiments on. He agrees with Alex's | prognosis - you are 8th Generation, but someone has warded your blood so | that you can't tell your sire nor clan. | Travis does a ritual and summons a spirit of some sort. He feeds | it the remainder of your blood and it produces a vague, smokey image of | your sire. It seems to be a tall, thin man, matching your image of the man | who attacked you. Beyond that, you can't tell very much. | Travis asks for all the details of your embrace and records them. | He promises to do what he can to help. You head back out to the car, there | is no sign of Phil. Anita drops you off at Iain's where everyone else is | too. Monday, 8th April. | You go back to your house, dropped off by Ari. You do shop and | house stuff. Nothing much happens. Tuesday 8th April. * The two of you go to Southgate and wander around. As you are * walking about, a guy steps out from a side corridor. He looks Marisa * right in the eye, bows, and offers her a rose. He has the weirdest eyes * you have ever seen - green bleeding out to a pale yellow. He whirls * back down the passageway and is gone. * People wander about in shock after this, but settle down next * to the Yarra by about 10pm. | Jasper suddenly gets up and walks away, towards Swanston St. * Jasper shambles along to the Arts Centre Caf, Marisa tagging * along behind. Jasper walks in and sees Kieran, who is sitting at a table. * Jasper breaks out of his trance. He says some choice words to Kieran * about not using those powers on him. Kieran basically says he'll do what * he wants, and why did Jasper bring Marisa. * Things do not go well. In the end, Kieran says he wants to meet * Jasper at Box Hill at this address at 8pm. Alone. * Jasper drives Marisa to her house where she feeds her cats * (who hate Jasper now) and gets a dress. You drive back to Iain's. | You spend the rest of the night resting. Wednesday 10th April Everyone trundles off to the Concert Hall or Arts Centre, its really not important. Pedant. Humans and kindred are milling about the reception area and being friendly. Eventually everyone is asked to move up to the ballroom. Elevators take people upstairs. Much classical dancing is done. The waiters seem to know whom to being the haemoglobin enriched drinks to. There is a light undercurrent of tension, but generally everyone seems to relax. Kindred met during the evening: *Etienne. A tall thin man, elegant and graceful. Polite, gentlemanly and generally formal. *Sean. A tall young man, blond hair, wearing trenchcoat and looking a little uncomfortable. Friendly tho. *Sophia. A childer of Morgana's, a little asian girl, blond on the inside. Seemingly attached to Jasper. *Mark. A beatnik, with american accent. He apparently plays jazz, saxophone. He is bored. *Karen. A pale, blond floaty haired woman. Quiet. Seems to be friends with Mark. *Morgana. The toreador primogen. Dark haired, french woman. Elegant and polite, but perhaps a little shallow. She is seen to mingle with the right people. *Matthew. Mein elegant host. He moves around making sure that everyone has a good time, talking to them, being friendly. *Christopher. A large black man, apparently a Ventrue. Enjoying himself in a laid back and quiet way. *Mina. Another Ventrue. Appears to be a bit aloof, as if this is all a little below her. *Tom. Anofer souf londuner, he sits and talks with Jasper for a bit. It later turns out he is the nosferatu primogen. *Terry. A brujah of the old school. Foot long spiked hair. Events of the evening: * Etienne and Anita seem to vie for Marisa's attention. At one point Etienne introduces Marisa to Alex, in a bit of a faux pas. * Lord Alfred seems keen to intercede between the two of them, dancing with Marisa in a calm way. * Someone seems to try and come in through the elevator. Alex dispatches some security guards who deal with the man. * Mark and Karen ask about Jasper's music and express some interest in coming and seeing a gig. Jasper is playing at the Bot on Saturday, so he says to come along. Sunday 14th April. | A few minutes after Jasper leaves, the lights go out, obviously | prompted by the thunderstorm. | You head off to church, on your bike. You attend the service and | then try and take confession. It doesn't work really well. For a start | is was hard enough to enter the church. You tell the priest about the | mugger. He says that the sins of the man who attacked you are his own | only, but you should say three hail mary's and pray for the man's soul. | You try and say you are a vampire, but end up fleeing the church amid a | thunderstorm | You cycle home in the rain, in terror (no helmet). Lights at | home are still out; You attempt to light a candle, leaving a hole in the | door between shop and house (You learn all about Rotschreck...). You leave | your bike at home, and go over to the cafe. For a second, you think you | see someone in an alley, lit by lightning. "Looking really hard", there | doesn't seem to be anyone there and as you are currently a little wary | of alleys, you continue to the cafe. You talk to Jasper (about stuff) | sotto voce. You sit and stew till lights come back on, eventually leaving | the cafe about 11:30, and walking home. There is message from Anita on | answering machine. | You change into dry clothes; stick some cardboard over the hole | in the door to stop the cats. Jasper turns up about 12:00/12:30, makes | some phone calls. You go upstairs and practise the flute (Greig (:). | Anita turns up later on, has a shower, conversations ensue... | something about the Masquerade? Anita gives you the wisdom of her | opinion on evilness and inhumanity, but you are not entirely convinced. | Anita recommends feeding a little, often, rather than waiting till you | get hungry and frenzy. You fail to mention that you're starting to get a bit | peckish; mostly because you're trying to deny it to yourself (you've never | felt this hunger before) and prefer to avoid feeding if you possibly can. | Nothing else startling happens and people head off to bed; Anita has a | small camp bed in your half of the room. Memo to self: meeting tomorrow | night with Travis. Ah, yes, Anita mentions a concert at the Arts Centre | on Wednesday. Monday April 15 | Up early and off to see Travis with Anita. You are edgy and | finding it hard to concentrate. Feeling peckish? You discuss how to reopen | the shop with Anita. You seem to decide to open at nights till you can get | someone to work during the day. You get completely turned around by the on | the trip there by the winding roads and have no idea where you are. | Travis tells you he intends to summon a spirit of the dead. There | is a brief metaphysical discussion as to what happens when people die. Travis | says most people seem to go somewhere else, but some poor souls are left | wandering the earth like a form of purgatory. You are unhappy, but agree. | Various ritualistic implements are collected and the three of you | head out to the top of a nearby hill. Travis starts setting things up and | explains to you what's going on. You think carefully and come up with three | questions. Travis starts chanting in Latin(?) and eventually the figure of | a man in 13th century dress forms in the smoke. He speaks archaic Italian | and Marisa lapses into Italian herself. He seems to recognize Anita (and | she him) but he adresses her as Lisette. He says to Travis (in Italian), | "What do you want, son of Tremere?". Travis says to speak English, which | the spirit ignores. The figure says his name is Antonio. You are absolutely | terrified but manages to ask your first question: | | You ask: Who made me into a vampire? | Answer cometh: I cannot tell you her name. | You say "I asked who she was, not her name." | Answer cometh: "Clever... she is old, older than myself, and I walked this | earth for 7 centuries as a vampire." | | You ask: Where is she now? | Answer cometh: I know not. | | You ask: Why was I embraced? Not "why me", but "For what purpose?" | Answer cometh: She seeks pawns who may yet become Queens. | | You have a vision that you are on a chessboard with the players | looming over you. Then you black out. | | You come to in Travis's house, head cradled in Anita's lap. You have | been out for about 45 minutes. You tell people what you asked and the replies | (it was all done in Italian, which neither of the other two understand). | Previous auguries have revealed that your sire was a man, and 7th Gen. | Discussion is held that maybe your Sire was under the control of the woman | who "made her a vampire", and similar possibilities. Other possibilities | include the perhaps that it was Alex who Embraced you, for his own purposes. | As to why... Travis suggests that maybe it is your shop that caused | you to be Embraced - maybe someone is expecting an important antique delivery | soon - and volunteers to come and check it out on Thursday. You agree. | Travis admits that this was his last avenue of inquiry, so the best | thing is for you to sit and wait and be aware (don't try and second-guess | Elders.) Whatever, Marisa is now thoroughly confused and no closer to finding | the truth. | Just as you leave, Travis draws you aside and tells you that if | anyone in Melborune found out about him being Tremere, himself, Derek and | Caitlin (his Childer) would be destroyed instantly. You now understand why | Antonio addressed Travis as "Son of Tremere". You gives your word that you | will not says anything to anyone. | You and Anita drive off in an uncomfortable silence. On the way | home, you and Anita discuss why Tony called Anita Lisette. Anita says her | name is Lisette Foxworth, but that Lisette Foxworth was declared legally | dead after a nasty car accident fairly shortly after her embrace, about | three years ago. After spending an unpleasant few hours in the morgue, she | managed to escape and reappear as Anita Farmer shortly after. Anita managed | to work things out so that Lisette Foxworth bequeathed everything to | Anita Farmer. She also mentions that she was getting money from Alex | for some work she was doing her him at the time of the accident. You shudder | at the thought that you too could have ended up in a morgue if anyone had | found her when she was unconscious in the alley after being attacked. | Anita puts some classical music on the tape player. You drive back to Anita's | place and get there about 1:30. Anita gets some stuff together and then head | back to your house. Tuesday 16th April | You are woken @ 1/4 to 7 by the phone ringing - you dash downstairs | in your nightgown and answer it: - "Is Jasper there?" - "I'll just see if | he's about..." You trot back upstairs and pull on your dressing gown and | start shaking Jasper: - "Jasper, wake up, phone for you." After much shaking | and snapping, you manage to wake Jasper and then turn away as he gets up | wearing nothing but boxers and slippers to go answer the phone. | You get under the shower and emerge shortly after, clad only in a | fluffy pink towel. You are NOT feeling hungry. You get dressed, head | downstairs, speak to Jasper (going to police station), open up your shop. | You dust the shop, vaguely tidying up. Anita comes downstairs into the shop, | wearing (gak!) a dress. You tell her she looks nice which seems to please | her. Phone call at 5 to 8, you get Anita to mind the shop, while you answer | the call. It's Det. Bryant re: Saturday night. He wants to know when you | saw Jasper that night. You are vague and non-comittal and actually lie | outright to him ("I don't recall if I saw him again later on Saturday | night" and "He spent Sunday at my place") which causes you more than a | slight pang of guilt, but then, you really don't want to get Jasper into any | trouble. Jasper screeches into the alley with the usual crashing of bins | and runs into the kitchen just as you hang up and warns you that you're | going to get a phone call from the police. | Jasper looks slightly worried when you tell him that you have | already, but he is the picture of gratefulness when you tell him that | you didn't tell the detective the whole truth. He tells you what has happened | (some guy has turned up dead in the Yarra, Jasper was seen arguing with him | on Saturday, it wasn't him, honest!). Jasper heads off again (crash, | screech) and you go back into the shop. Anita has just sold a $200 item and | you go back to dusting. Shut up shop shortly after 12 and sit around for | a while, chatting. Jasper gets in around 2am * Anita goes home about 4, but arranges to pick you both up around * 7.30pm the next day. | You recites your rosary before going to bed but are interrupted by | Jasper looking for an alarm clock. (If looks could kill (: ) Wednesday 17th April | You are woken at 6.30 by Jasper's alarm clock which fails to even | disturb him even tho it's right next to his head. You shake Jasper awake | and snap at him (you're so upset, you even forgot to put you dressing gown | on) before barging into the bathroom and showering. You go back into your | room and gets ready (nice floaty green dress, usual boots). Jasper _finally_ | gets up and races round to get ready (Brujah formal gear). You remember to | feed the cats. * Anita turns up at 20 to 8 (wearing tails), and gets snapped at by * Marisa for being late; Jasper is frantically pulling on his boots and * hopping after them to keep up. Everyone gets into the car and you head * off for the Concert Hall. You park underground and go up to the 2nd level * in the lift. Lots of people milling about. | Jasper heads off to talk to Kieran; Iain says hello. * At this point, it should be mentioned that the current blood point * are as follows: * Marisa: 1 * Jasper: 3. * * The concert is beginning, so everyone moves to boxes. You are * intercepted by Etienne, who sits next to Marisa and tries to engage her * in witty conversation before the concert. Her answers seem a bit brusque. * The concert is quite good, as these things go. There is more chatting * in the interval, including a throwaway comment from Etienne about knowing * Mozart. * The concert continues for another 1hr, and finally finishes. Etienne * walks Marisa from the box, with Anita hovering behind, and Jasper wondering * who will Frenzy first. All the kindred who are here are moving into a sort * of reception area. * Etienne asks Marisa to come with him on a Yarra cruise after the * court, and Anita replies with "We're already busy". Marisa stops and says * "Are we? You didn't tell me." Etienne waves his hand and says "I'm sure it * can wait, tonight would be a beautiful night for a cruise." * Anita shirtfronts Etienne and yells "Listen, sword-boy." Etienne * uppercuts Anita, who flies back about 3 metres. He pulls a sword from * somewhere. Anita drops fangs, claws and shows her pretty red eyes to full * advantage. Vamps all around start pretending they've never met either of * these people before in their life. * Anita suddenly disappears, flying backwards, and intersects with * the wall. People start to pretend they've never met anyone here before in * their lives. Alex (MR Prince to you, neonate) cranks the Presence to Majesty, * and people start to fall to their knees. Marisa starts to run to Anita, but * Alex commands her to STOP (she nearly freezes solid). Alex 'Commands' Anita * to get out, which she scarpers to obey. He turns to Etienne and says "YOU * ought to know better." Etienne starts to argue, but then turns on his heel * and leaves, shredding a potplant on the way. * Alex says to Marisa (still radiating Majesty), "You. In here." | Alex half-drags you to one of the boxes, where he proceeds to tell | you off for playing one lover against another. The good little Catholic | girl that you are, you start to object, "You dare!" | "I dare whatever I want! Your little clique has caused enough | trouble already this week." You are a wobbly ball again. | "My what? I don't understand." | Alex tilts your chin back and looks into your eyes for a long | moment. "I see." Alex tells you to leave (and you're grounded!) and you | go. At the door she passes Madelaine, who gives you a look that could flay, | and then goes in to the same booth. You stagger over to Jasper. * Iain comes up and sits with you, but the rest of the kindred treat * them like a nossie at an art show. Iain seems intent on getting very drunk. | Jasper walks off briefly and talks with Kieran again. He hands him | some documents. He also talks to some of the Toreador. Iain offers you a | drink, but you knock him back a bit sharply. * After a short while, Alex comes out with Marisa, and they sit on * the thron^H^H^H^H^H chairs up the end. They announce that Ari, Iain's * childe, has been a baaaaaad boy, (frenzied and left witnesses and a big mess * on King St) and that because Ari has not been formally released into Kindred * society, Iain is at fault too. * There is a brief hubhub. A man announced as Dominic Giovanni is said * to be keeping tabs on Ari until he recovers from his Torpor, at which point * the court will convene for sentance. * You flee as soon as possible, and travel back to Marisa's. Jasper and * Marisa get tetchier and tetchier and eventually Jasper storms out. | You start to cry, but stop after just a few moments as you realize | that you're getting covered in blood. You sits staring at your hands on the | verge of hysterics, till Iain asks you what's wrong. "It's blood!" Iain | gently explains to you that all your body fluids are now blood, and helps | you wash your hands. | Iain offers to drive you around to look for Anita. You go to the | Concert Hall carpark to look for her car and its still there. Iain walks you | back to the car to write a note, then trots down himself to leave it. You | go to Anita's Haven, and its still there. You leave another note, because | Anita isn't. You return to your house. You go inside to collect some clothes | (you wants to stay at Iain's). Anita is hiding in the corner of your room. | You talk to Iain, and say you'll stay here. He says "ok". You go towards | the door of the house, but overhear Anita say "Yeah, ok, I'll tell her | tonight." Iain then heads back to his house, because Jasper was going to | crash there. | You sit in the kitchen. The front door jangles as Anita comes | in and locks it behind herself. She comes through into the kitchen and | sits down. She picks up a pen off the table and starts fiddling with | it. Neither of the you look particularly well: You look pale and | shocked and Anita has lost her jacket and shoes and is quite tattered. | You hesitantly discuss the events of the evening (read: the fight) and | Anita starts trying to get to a point, with much beating about the | bush. Anita says something about Etienne being slimy and how he often | seduces innocent young women. You say (a bit indignantly) that you can | take care of yourself. You assume from what Anita says that she was being | protective of you out of friendship. Anita asks you whether you were | ignoring her on purpose by sitting with Etienne etc. You say of course | not, you didn't realize that Anita was feeling ignored. | You and Anita talk briefly, and Anita says that she is quite hungry | from healing all the damage she took. You says you're not really hungry | (mmm... those little white lies (: ) but go along anyway). You catch a | cab back to the concert hall and get Anita's car. There is a note on the | front seat, but you can't see how Iain got in. They drive out towards | Jells Park. On the way, Anita talks to you about why Alex said what he | did. She mentions that she is bisexual. You open your mouth, stick both | feet in and say "I'll pray for you." | You hits your head on the dashboard as Anita screeches the car | to a halt, and then gets out and runs away. You give chase and tackle. | Both fall to the grass. There is a brief discussion that runs something like: | "How would you like it if someone you had fallen in love with said | that you were someone that needed praying about?" | You are sort of stunned by the "fallen in love with" bit, while | Anita faces the other way and cries. Another car drives past, then slows | to a halt. A young guy gets out and asks if they are ok. You say that | there was a spider in the car. He gives you a strange look, but drives off. | Anita wipes her eyes, and then offers you her hands to get up. | You see the blood on them and nearly eat them. Anita makes an eek noise, | and rubs the blood off onto the grass. She shuffles you back to the car | and shows you your face. Its is almost porcelain white. You're told this | is the colour you went when you saw blood, and maybe you are a bit hungry. | Marisa: No I'm not. | Anita: I don't believe you. | Marisa: Ok, I am. | | You hoon out to Jells Park and park in the driveway bit. In fact, | you park Jasper in. His car is sitting there. What a coincidence. | Anita takes out a hockey-stick-bag from the back of her car, but | is vague about what it is. You and her walk over to a paddock. Anita suggest | you take the first bite. You drop your fangs and move over to a cow. Anita | seems to put her hand into the bag. Is that the sound of a shotgun cocking? | Couldn't be, Anita wouldn't do that to you. | You pig down half a herd, and don't Frenzy. The GM is impressed. | Anita eats the other half. * All three of you have a short chat. Marisa apologises for * her comments. Jasper resists frenzying. Anita recommends to Jasper that * he feed on some cows. Jasper laughs at this suggestion. He tells the * others that he plans to go to Iain's that night. | You leave and go via Anita's house for some clothes, then to your | house. Its quite late so you go to bed. Anita sleeps in Jasper's bed. Thursday 18th April | During the day, you are woken about 1.30 by banging on the door. | You asks Dante about it, but he just says it's two men he doesn't know. | You go back to sleep. You are woken again about 6.30 by the phone, you | race downstairs and answer it. It's for Jasper, so you give them Iain's | number. You have a shower and get dressed. Go downstairs and open up | shop; Anita comes down eventually. They chat about inconsequential matters. | Definately not about last night. | After a while, Travis and Caitlin come along to your shop as | promised. You tour them around, but they come up a blank on the "Detect | Mystical Item" spell. You take them upstairs, to your store room. Travis | lunges upon a broken pendant and necklace, and ducks into the bathroom for | a minute to clean it up. Caitlin tours the room, and finds a large harp. | She retunes it and then extends claws, and uses them to play it. She plays | really well. Travis comes back with a fixed necklace, and gives you $3,000 - | 1K for the necklace, 2K for the harp. You are surprised, but happy. | They leave. Anita says that she has to go for a bit, get some things | done, but will be back around midnight. She goes.... time passes. A large, | fat, bald man comes in. He says his name is Jean Luc Audoin. He is obviously | kindred. He looks around the shop before making some allusions to your new | lifestyle, and your recent trials. Then he leaves. Shortly afterwards, | you can smell smoke. You panic a bit, look around the store, and find the | source. Its a jewellery box, with a plain cross inside. All the felt around | the cross is burnt, and it is quite warm still. You clean it up a bit, and | decide that you like it and wears it. It feels warm to your skin. | Anita comes back and you tell her about Jean Luc and the cross. | Anita warns against associating with Jean Luc, as he is a Setite. She's | baffled by the cross, but promises to mention it to Travis. Friday 19th April | You are confronted with the following news item: | | [Something has gone horribly wrong with Melbourne this week. | | Consider that in the last three days, there have been more murders | than would normally occur in a fortnight. | | And somehow, they all seem to be connected to this man [photo] | Jasper Frampton. | | First there was the inexplicable murder of Brian Hanrahan. | Hanrahan, 40 year old father of three, was found with his throat cut, | floating in the Yarra River, last Monday afternoon. It would seem that | Mr Hanrahan had a brief argument with Frampton in the Botannical Hotel | upon the Saturday afternoon. And then turned up dead. | | During routine police enquiries, it was discovered that Frampton | was an illegal immigrant. In due course, the Immigration Department sent | out agents to aprehend Frampton, who evaded them. Temporarily. Allegedly | Frampton paid each of the agents a later visit, and in the words of one | police official "impaled or disembowled every one of them", in an orgy | of sadistic perversion. | | And now it would seem that he has struck again. Although no witnesses | have come forward, a young Camberwell family have been brutally murdered | in a senseless attack. And the connection with Frampton? It would seem that | he was known to reside part-time at the home of Iain McKenzie, the next | door neighbour of the murdered family, and circumstancial evidence points | to the berserk frenzy having begun in McKenzie's home. McKenzie himself | is missing, but is believed to have been in Sydney when the attack began. | | Other friends and known associates of Frampton were unavailable | for comment. | | Police are still seeking any witnesses to these attacks, or anyone | who has seen Frampton in the last 24 hours to come forward. Do not attempt | to approach Frampton, or communicate with him. He is possibly armed and | dangerous.] | | You and Anita go looking for Jasper. You try Iain's - but see | the police stuff. Oh dear. You try Ambrosia (which isn't open yet), and | thats a no go, except that Mina tells you that Alex has him, probably | at Brunton Ave. You go there and meet Bradley, who smells faintly of | shotgun. You convince him to get Alex. Alex says that he has Jasper and | will release him when he sees fit. You go home. | You receive a phone call, telling you to come and collect Jasper | from Brunton St. You do, and take him home. He goes to sleep. Anita tells | you she thinks Alex has dominated him into being a real Dwayne Dibbly. Saturday 20th April | Once again, its the phone that wakes you up. You rush and get it, | but its for Jasper. | You open up the shop. Jasper is still acting weird. He's cleaning | up the kitchen now. * Anita wakes up and does a "4 weddings and a funeral' impression. * She zooms downstairs and tells Marisa that she has to go. Marisa counters * with the incredibly witty "Where?". "Clan meeting" "Can we come?" Anita * considers. "Yes, actually, that would be good." * You zoom out to Studley Park. Anita tells you to wait in the * car while she sprints into the park. Marisa puts on the radio. A couple * of cars turn up, including a porsche. Rachel gets out of the porsche, * and struts down the same path as the others. | You are idly looking out the driver's window when you see a weird | concentric pattern of circles in the glass. You hadn't noticed it before. | It looks almost like water that has been frozen minutes after a droplet | of water hit it. * After a while, Anita comes back and says to come with her down * there. You travel down the path, and find about 15 kindred standing around, * including Travis and Caitlin and Derek. Rachel is sitting up one end, on * a park bench (but the word 'throne' is one that comes to mind). Anita says * to Jasper to go and talk with Rachel. * Jasper moves up to Rachel, who has Travis next to her. Travis looks * into his eyes and says "Tell me what you did Thursday." * Jasper: "No." * Travis: [dominate] "Tell me what you did." * J: [straightens up, looks his normal self] "I don't want to know." * [he sinks back down] * * Rachel stands up (she's 6' tall), and grabs Jasper by the shirt * front, lifts him off the ground. "Tell me what you did, or I'll tear your * arms off and beat you with them." * J: [straightens up] "I don't want to know!" * Rachel throws him to the ground. "You're contemptible. [to Anita] * Get him out of here." * Marisa runs up and tells Rachel she's not very nice. Rachel's * response is basically "...so?", but Marisa gets the last word, and she * spins around and helps Jasper to his feet and they walk off with Anita. * The rest of the night passes pretty quietly.... Sunday 21st April | The phone rings and you are halfway towards up when Jasper | rushes down to get it. Weird. You get up anyway and get ready to go | to church when Jasper says one of his friends is coming over. Given his | current state, you decide to stay in the kitchen. * Julie turns up and is escorted into the kitchen. Marisa hovers. * Julie asks Jasper how he is. * Jasper says "Fine". * Julie says "Feel like going for a walk?" Marisa says that Jasper * should stay here for the moment. Julie looks surprised that Jasper doesn't * argue. * There is a brief calm moment. Then Anita knocks on the door. With * almost palpable relief, Marisa rushes for the front door and lets her * in, and briefly explains the situation. Anita says "Cool, I'll babysit." * Marisa leaps onto her bike and hoons off to St Patricks. | You walk in the door at 7:45pm, and sits down. There is a | service at 8pm. The lights are half-dimmed, and the votive candles | send their greasy smoke to the ceiling. Marisa sits through the | service, and the theme reflects honesty and truth. There is a reading of | Blah ##, where Peter betrays Jesus three times before dawn. Somewhere | in Mt Waverley, a young women punches the guy she's sitting with. | The service concludes, and the lights in the cathedreal are turned | back down to half strength. You wait until nearly last before taking | confession. You confess that you have told lies to protect your friends | from being hurt, and the priest says that the road to hell is paved | with good intentions, which gets the conversation off to a wonderful start. | | There follows a philosophical discussion, covering: | * the fact that you have has no soul. | * when people die, the soul leaves the body, which is now a dead shell | and then god judges their souls, and sends them to the various after- | lives like a giant postmaster. | * you cannot fully confess your sins, because you are "bound" in | ways that you cannot break. | * the fact that you can spend 3 willpower points before Liz starts to | get nervous about the amount you have left. | | You leaves the confession box, the lights are at 1/3rd strength, | no one else is around. You trot from the confession box, intending | to get to your bike and away as fast as possible. You are half way to | the centre aisle when from the ceiling something swings down. Huge black | bat wings, and an angelical face. The figure lands in front of the pews, | on the other side of the central aisle to you. | He seems easily as nervous as you. | "You're like me, aren't you.... but you're closer." | "Closer?" | "Closer to God..." | There is a brief pause as you look for your brain amongst the | pews and things. | Conversation resultant: | The figure is Paul. He is an angel - or could be if he keeps trying | to be good. He was turned into what he is now by some demons, who grabbed | him, killed him and buried him. He saw God, who said that he could climb | the same path that the demons and devils took downwards. | Paul returned to his body, and dug sideways out of the grave, while | the others dug up. He hid and then came to the church, where he's stayed | since. | You crank the angst and tells Paul that you think you have no | soul, and that you are doomed to burn in Hell(c). | Paul doesn't take this well. He tries to convince you that God | told him what to do, so it must be true. Its a second chance, so its | not going to be easier, but harder. Paul freaks and *poof* he's gone. | You flee the church, and ride home at great speed. You wheel | your bike up the alley out the back of your place. You suddenly realises | you can hear a man crying. You creep forward and peek around the corner. | You can see a man, in jeans, red leather jacket and red hair. He has his | face in his hands. You creep up to him, and touch him on the shoulder, | saying "Are you ok?" | The man looks up, and you gasp. The man has tears of flame | running down his face, and where his eyes should be, there were | gaps into a fiery realms. He staggered to his feet and pushed you | out of the way. You slump against a shed wall. | You are broken from your reverie by a large cat landing on your lap. | You run into your house and find Jasper and Julie gone. Anita has opened | the shop. You relate your night to Anita, and Anita does a good 4W&aFuneral | impression again. She explains that burying people once they've been | embraced is a Sabbat thing, and if Paul is a new kindred, they are in | deep shit. Anita and you go to the cathedral. You sit inside and speak into | the silence. | "Paul, are you there?" | "You brought one of them, one of the demons, you betrayed me." | "No, she's good, she isn't one of them.." | [silence] | "Paul, I saw a man crying flame, with fire for eyes.... do you know | who he was?" | [whispered] "Sweet Michael, come to consume us all...." | There is no further response. Anita says that she was unable to hear | the replies that you heard. You give a brief explanation. Anita looks | unhappy that you didn't find out when Paul was embraced. | You go home. You receive a phone call from Jasper. You go and get | Jasper. * Jasper is retrieved from St Kilda, and an explains what he did. * Both Marisa and Anita have a weird glint in their eyes. The night passed * uneventfully. Monday 22nd April * 9am. The Phone rings. * * 11am. The phone rings * * 12pm. The phone rings * * 1,2,3pm. The phone rngs * * 3:30pm. There is a knocking at the front door. * * 3:45pm. There is a knocking at the back door. * * 4pm. There is a loud thud and a scream from the bathroom. Marisa * and Jasper wake up. Marisa walks into the hallway. Screaming and sobbing * are emanating from the bathroom. | You find a cat and some heavy clothing. In return for a fish, | Dante will find out who is in the bathroom. Bargaining over, you wrench | open the door, dazzled by the sunlight, and run back to your bedroom. * The cries now increase in volume and the woman's voice starts * calling for Jasper. Jasper recognises the voice to be Julie. Dante * returns from his mission and demands a fish. He also tells Marisa that * there is a woman in the bathroom and that she has a broken leg and where's * this fish you promised me? * Marisa stalks up and down, tells Jasper to be quiet. She tries to * wake Anita up, but no such luck. Marisa pumps her strength and stamina, * makes a poncho, wraps her head up tightly and psychs herself up. | You are part-blinded from the sunlight bouncing off the mirror, | grab Julie and haul arse into the bedroom. * Marisa comes running in, carrying the screaming Julie. Her face * is revealed to be badly burnt, almost like sunburn (eerie, huh?). Marisa * feeds Julie two codeine tablets, and then tries to think what to do. * Julie is crying wildly for Jasper. Jasper tries to take over, Marisa * tells him to shutup, Julie tries to go to Jasper, and faints, Jasper * uses dread gaze on Marisa. * The next two hours pass, as Julie is unconscious, Marisa and Jasper * slowly sucumb to the day time slumber. * At about 6:30 you come to. There is much rushing around as Anita * finally wakes up and makes clucky noises over Marisa's face. It is agred * that you will give the hospital the story that she slipped and fell while * cleaning in the bathroom. Marisa rings the Ambulance. * The ambulance shows up and Jasper rides with them to the hospital. | Somewhat shakenly, you and Anita sit in the shop and wait for | Jasper to come back home. | Jasper comes home at about 10pm, none the worse for wear, beyond | the whole Dwayne Dibbly stuff. He sits and reads New Idea. Tuesday 23rd April. * The Tuesday starts off very quietly, at least according to my * notes. At about 10pm, Iain and Ari come in to the shop, with a little girl. * Iain stomps out to the kitchen, with the little girl. | Iain comes back out of the kitchen without the little girl. When | you enquire, he says Jasper is going to be taking care of her from now on. | You freak a little at this, but Iain says its Jasper's problem from now | on. Jasper comes out and embraces Iain, thanking him, but Iain looks more | than a little annoyed. He leaves Ari, telling him to meet Iain at Brighton. * You chat for a little bit, then Marisa closes up and goes into * the kitchen to see what's going on. Alyssa is spoiled rotten by Jasper. Marisa and Ari have their soon to be usual cold war argument. Ari stomps out and heads towards Brighton. Marisa talks to Anita about the Alyssa thing. Jasper rings Sam, and gets her to come and take care of Alyssa, who doesn't want to go. Thursday 25th April Anzac day. Everything should have been shut, but the GM forgot. | Anita isn't coming over until after midnight, so you open your | shop up. Traffic is slow. Might have something to do with the GM forgetting | its Anzac day. A young man comes in, obviously not very well. He wants | to sell you a silver wedding ring, probably late 19th C. He looks shifty, | so you get his name and signiture on a receipt and pay him $100. He leaves, | happy. You clean the ring while waiting for customers. There seems to be | an inscription. | "Dearest John, | Every night together, eternally ours. | Rachel." | | Oh dear. You put the ring to one side and wait for further | instructions. Anita rocks up around 12:15, for some reason fairly happy, | and bouncy. She seems a bit pink too. You tell her about the ring, and | she wants to show it to Rachel now. In the car goeth you, and off clubbing. | You find Rachel in Ambrosia, with a olive skinned young man who seems a | bit full of himself. You blither a bit, but then show her the ring. | Rachel goes dead white and demands to know where you got this. You | tell her Lestrange's name, and she's gone. You ask Anita if it was the | right thing to do. Anita looks concerned, but says it should be ok. Anita | drags you upstairs to an elevator. You go up and arrive in a fairly plush | and downlit room. A few kindred spot the place (Morgana, Sophia, Jean Luc). | Anita drags you to a table that overlooks the dance floor. You fail to | see Ari. You do see Anita order a drink and Sophia come up and ask after | Jasper. You give her your home address. Was that wrong? | After some time you go home. Piker. Anita stays over in your bed | again, because Alyssa is asleep. In dreams, you're mine Feel all right We're together in dreams In beautiful dreams. And just before the dawn I awake to find you've gone I can't help it I can't help it if I cry Cos I remember that you said Good bye | You can see the chessboard. | | It stretches off to infinity.... yet you can sense the players, | drawing their pieces together in symbolic battle. | | You off to the side of the board. | | White has woven a tight defense. Black probes gently against | the walls of this defense. Suddenly black launches an over the top | attack, their queen at the head. They pierce the defense of the pawns, | through the rook and are poised to take the bishop, and from there the | king. | | A piece is placed on the board. A grey king. With him. He blocks | the black queen, and a grey pawn takes the bishop, and becomes a queen. | The black queen and her accompanying pieces beat a hasty retreat from | the attack. The grey king and queen move to the centre of the board, | and are ringed by white and black pieces, each making moves against each | other, and trying to maneuver the grey king so that they can capture it. | | You feel yourself being lifted and being placed upon the board. | A black bishop moves away from you, as if they brought you to the board. | You are a black pawn. You are being maneuvered towards one of the white | knights. You throw a laso of silver rope around the horse. The trailing | rope catches up in another white knight, smaller, both of them ride | screaming towards the grey king, scattering both the black and white | pieces to the winds. They ride past and the grey king gives chase. In | the confusion, the black queen attacks and takes the grey king. White | rapidly falls back to a defense position, much weaker than when they | began. | | There is a jump, and you ae returned to the start of the game. | You throw the silver rope, the knights ride past, and you fall upon the | grey king from behind. | | There is a jump, and you are returned to the start of the game. | You throw the silver rope, but are caught up with the other knights, | and find yourself as a knight, running from the grey king. | | There is a jump, and you are returned to the start of the game. | You throw the silver rope, and the knights ride towards the grey king. | The grey king moves you, rather than your player, and you take the white | knights. | | There is a jump, and you are returned to the start of the game. | You throw the silver rope, and watch as the action recedes, and move off | with a grey knight. | | There is a jump, and you throw the silver rope, and are taken | by the grey queen, who then takes the black bishop. | | There is a jump, and the black serpent bites you and you die | of poison | | There is a jump and a grey knight with a wand takes you from the | field. | | Jump. You fade to grey and take the black bishop. | | Jump. You are taken by a white pawn. | | Jump. You are taken by a black pawn | Jump. You fade to grey with two other pawns | Jump. You die. Saturday 27th April | You wake suddenly, sweating blood. Your dream was very vivid and | violent. Anita is still asleep(or was she even there?), but Jasper is | already up??? Once you have calmed down and convinced yourself it was | all a dream, you slip out of bed, trying not to disturb Anita, and go | have a shower. You head downstairs where Jasper and Alyssa are, and | open the shop. Nothing special happens (i think, oh yes police), | except for some police who turn up to ask about a David Lestrange and | a silver ring. Once again, you are slightly less than truthful when | dealing with the boys in blue, and you tell them that you have already | sold the ring, and do not keep written receipts of sales. (No officer, | I gave it an evil blood-sucking creature of the night(TM).) They seem | convinced and leave. You and Anita head off around 12:30 to see if | you can find Rachel to see if she's ok. Head off to a couple of night- | clubs but no luck till you get to Ambrosia. (Where you also run into | Ari?) You manage to find Rachel and ask her about the ring and about | Mr Lestrange. She makes some comments that lead you to believe that | a) the ring is kind of important to her and b) that she beat the snot | out of Lestrange. | After
