EDIT THE MASTER COPY!!! ***Monday 1st April*** | Its a fairly busy night at the cafe for a Monday - the start of the | Comedy Festival lends itself to people coming to eat before and | afterwards. | Samantha is run off of her feet, trying to make enough food | and coffee for all the orders. You have a fairly slack night, wandering | around to tables as people order things. | About 10pm, two guys come in, arguing violently to each other. | They give you $20 to not come and pester them for an hour, and continue | to argue quietly, occasionally drawing diagrams or maybe lists on paper, | then carefully destroying the paper. | After an hour, you go back to their table, and they give you | another $20 to go away for the rest of the night. By this time everything | has quietened down again, so you spend some time sitting and chatting to | Sam. | At 11:30, a police car goes past, pretty quickly. Other than that, | traffic seems to be dying back a bit now. | The two guys leave eventually, and you are left almost alone with | Sam. The two of you chat idlely, and eventually decide to close up. You clean | up the cafe, and then Sam leaves you to lock up and ride home. You do so and | step into the alley behind the cafe when something hits you in the mouth. | You fly back about 3 meters and slam into the fence. Then someone is on you | and it all goes dark. | You awaken, in your room. Everything is dark. You sit up, and realise | that someone else is in the room. He talks to you, and says his name is | Kieran, and that he has made you a vampire. Weird mother, ain't he? | The phone rings. You answer it - its Marisa, who would like you to | come and stay with her a bit because she's had a break-in. Conferring briefly | with Kieran, you tell her 'ok'. | You and Kieran move to Marisa's house. Once there Kieran freaks and | says that she is a vampire too. * There is a big argument over how this could have happened and some * furniture redesigning, and then a somewhat intense argument over freewill. * Jasper is told he can't go and see his sick mum in England, nor may he * bring her over. In the end, everyone is barrelled off to Kieran's house * in Northcote. ***Tuesday 2nd April*** * You both awaken at Kieran's house. The alarm clocks next to you * say '7pm'. Which is weird, cos they have no mouths. Kieran knocks on your * doors and says to get ready to go somewhere. * You are both bundled into Kieran's Saab and driven over the * Westgate bridge to Williamstown or Altona or something. You really couldn't * say. You end up at a rave in a not-yet-occupied warehouse. There are a lot * of cars around, and quite a few people. Even from outside you can hear the * pounding of a bass. * Kieran drags you both inside, paying the guy at the door. Inside * the music is all but pounding the concrete off the walls. | The music is kinda neat, at the edge of your sort of taste. * As you are sitting around, watching Kieran move around, talking to * people, and looking at the aliens^H^H^H^H^H goths, you happen to see someone * you recognise - Ari - come in with an Austrlian-looking guy in black leather * and jeans. He looks around, sees you, and heads your way. Ari emits surprise about Jasper and Marisa's presence, but Jasper and Marisa arent terribly forthcoming. You all chat (yell) a bit, but there are numerous uncomfortable silences. The DJ puts on "Bloodletting", but it only gets 3 bars in before he is punched out by someone and the music is changed. * Kieran talks briefly with the guy that Ari came in with, and with * a bunch of other people as well. He speaks to some guy in 19thC period goth dress, a punk with tall, multicoloured spiked hair, another older guy in what you would call a 'teacher' costume. All of these people look a little... pale. * The guy that Ari came in with comes over towards you, scowling a * little as if something was wrong. There is a brief lull in the music as he * talks with Ari, and you can hear what he says. Iain, a little sharply "Do you know these two?" Ari, confused "Yeah..." Iain, a little freaked "Do you know they are vampires too?" Ari answers intelligently - "Huh?" Mass confusion arises as people realise each other are evil bloodsucking creatures of the night(tm). Once it has been sorted out that Ari was made by Iain, Jasper by Kieran and Marisa by the Phantom, people consider the freaky nature of this occurence. What a coincidence. | Kieran barrels up to you with, and pulls you aside from the others. | "You are from Perth, ok? You were Embraced there and only recently | came to Melbourne" | Jasper parries wittly "huh?" | "If you do not say this, then you will be destroyed out of hand." | "Oh. Good." Jasper returns to the pc-pile and looks confused. Its a sort of camoflague reaction. Kieran returns to talking avidly with people, esp the guy in the ruffle shirt. Iain suddenly looks inspired, herds you all together and towards Kieran and ruffle-shirt-man. As you approach, you are struck by the thought that he looks almost as if he is holding court at a festival. Iain interrupts Kieran and says "Howard, if Jasper is from Perth, then he is free to go where he will, correct? And seeing I'm already babysitting Ari here, why I don't I help him and Marisa adjust to Melbourne as well." Kieran tries to interrupt "I don't think that.." Iain keeps going "Well, being from Perth, Jasper can make his own decision, free of his Sire or anyone like that, _can't_ he, Howard?" Howard smiles slightly "That is correct, according to custom." "So what do you want to do, Marisa, Jasper?" | A chance to put the wind up Kieran? Cool. Marisa goes to say | something, but you jump in and say "I think I'll go with you for a bit, if | you don't mind." * Marisa pipes up after Jasper and says that she'll go with Jasper. Kieran all but has steam coming out of his ears, so Howard jestures to a couple of burly men, who drag him outside. Howard suggests to Iain that he take you all out the back way. Now. Iain concurs, and you are all taken around to a ute, Ari is made to climb in the back, while Jasper and Maresa are in the cabin with Iain. Everyone trundles back to Iain's house, in Camberwell. Once there Iain settles them into some rooms so that they are comfortable and explains some more about being a vampire. He also mentions there is a conclave on the next day. *Wednesday 3rd April* Jasper, Ari and Marisa wake up at Iain's at about 6:45. They get ready and head off to 15 Collins St, as this is apparently where the conclave is to be. Marisa is presented as a lost kindred. Alex tastes her blood and says that he can't tell what clan she is or who her Sire is (due to a Thaumaturgical ward)... although she is 8th Generation. She is told that she will be permitted to stay but she must drink Alex's blood 3 times. Marisa freaks a little, but does it. Aristotle is presented as being Iain's rightful childer, to be released whenever Iain thinks he is ready. Jasper is presented as being a Brujah 'from Perth'. Alex makes some enquiries as to whether he was involved in the fall of Lumley. Jasper says that he was just Embraced a short while ago, and left because the city was far too chaotic. He is told as long as he obeys the rules of the city, he is welcome to stay. People gently mix, socially. They are introduced to some more of the kindred around the city, including Anita and Lord Alfred. Anita seems fairly interested in Marisa. After a couple of hours, everyone trundles back to Mr Iain's house, where he continues their education in Kindred matters. Today's lesson: "What's a blood bond?" * Thursday 4th April * * Marisa comes and tells you and Iain that she woke up with the taste * of blood on her lips and a note next to her bed. Iain says that that could be dangerous - it means that Marisa has drunk twice from her Sire, if it is the same person. It will only take one more drink to blood bond her to her Sire. Everyone hunts around for a while. Supposition is made that the person responsible, if a vampire, would have to have slept nearby. All head for 15 Collins St again, where to find Alex. Jasper and Ari wait with the ute whilst Marisa and Iain go inside. * After maybe 20 minutes, Iain comes out of the office doors, carrying * Marisa. He tells you that _everything_is_ok_ and that you should take Marisa * to _this_address_. You will come back tomorrow night. * You drive the ute to the brighton address, and pull up outside a * huge mansion. Marisa comes to as you pull up. She looks dazed and confused. But then again, so do all of you. Inside, its a loverly house. Lots of security, some blacked out bedrooms, televisions. None of it looks particularily new, but neither does it look well used. | You pass an otherwise boring evening by playing your bass. But it | goes completely fucked and you spit it and throw the bass through the | tv in your room. Now both of them are completely fucked. You go outside | and practice lighting cigarettes. After the exciting evening, everyone goes nighty night at about 5:45am. * Friday 5th April * * You are both awoken by Marisa yelling your names. Jasper and Ari barrell into Marisa's room to find her sitting on the bed, pointing at a pot. Jasper moves over and picks it up before anyone can say otherwise. | You feel the wierdest tingling through your fingers as you pick | up the pot. It just seems to be a clay pot with a wax seal over the top. People hunt around the house, and find how the pot-carrier got it. He has overridden the security on one of the doors, and forced it open. It is decided to take this all to Alex. Everyone jumps in the car and woosh, off they go. Once at 15 Collins St, they arrive to find Alex reading some papers on his desk. There is a goblet of blood sitting there. They show the pot to Alex. He says it was a Thaumaturgical thing - very simple to construct. It switches the blood on the inside of the pot with the blood of the person touching it. All eyes swing to Jasper. Jasper asks whether it is safe to break it. Alex nods, and Jasper breaks open the seal and drinks his blood back again. Alex indicates that Marisa is to drink for the 3rd time. Marisa prevaricates a bit, and Jasper makes a long speech about personal freedom. Ari and Jasper are asked to leave, Iain will meet them in the foyer. * You meet Iain down in the foyer on the ground floor. IT is * communicated to Iain about the breakin and the pot. He says he had no idea * where you were last night so Marisa's sire cannot be tracing his mind. * Jasper says that Marisa was unconscious most of the way there, but came to * once she got to the house, and her sire might have found them that way. Marisa comes down the lifts and says she drank the third drink. All seem a little bit non-plussed, but shrug and continue on. Ari and Marisa express an interest in going to an Easter service, while Jasper goes to work. | Work is dull. Lots of people around, due to the Comedy Festival | but still dull. No one does anything supernatural. Once work is finished, | you head back to Iain's. Saturday 6th April. You all wake to the sound of steel on steel. Ari and Jasper rush out the see what is going on, while Marisa follows at more timid speed. In Iain's lounge room is Iain, fighting with a tall guy. They are knife fighting, and both seem equally good at it. The parlour door is open, as if the unknown guy came in through it. He seems to be fighting a retreat. Iain lunges and stabs the guy, then spin-kicks the knife deep into his chest. Everyone gasps. The assailant stumbles back, and Iain moves forward to finish him. The unknown recovers suddenly, and grabs one of Marisa's knives that she left in the lounge and hurls it at Iain. Iain is knocked backwards and over by the force of the blow. The unknown escapes. Everyone clusters around Iain, who has a Malaysian kris embedded in his sturnum. He looks dead, right up to the point where he opens his eyes and says "ouch". Iain hauls the knife from his chest, and the wound heals over as you watch. After some investigation, no one can see where the unknown guy seems to have gone, Iain puts the neighbours off from calling the police and asks that Marisa put away her toys before she goes to bed. Iain gets you all to pack your stuff. Iain drives to 15 Collins St and goes inside, taking his boots, telling you to wait outside. He comes back out without his boots. You are going hunting (because he is hungry for some reason) and then to an unnamed destination. If Marisa's sire knows about this haven, and found you at Alex's, it would be nice to know if he could follow you further than that. Everyone zooms off to a club in Iain's car. Iain goes back for seconds and then thirds. (I think Jasper and Ari may have fed too.). After about 2 hours, everyone gets into Iain's car and zooms off. Southeast. Towards Cranbourne. Then a left. And a right onto a dirt road. Around a bit. To a small, (almost fortress like) flat-sized house on the dirt road. Inside you all go, and then sleeping arrangements are discovered. Everyone sleeps in one big pile. Exciting night, what? Sunday 7th April Everyone wakes up and looks at Marisa. Nope, no blood, nor no message. Woohoo. He can't follow you here. Right, says Iain, we have somewhere to hide. Don't tell anyone about this place. Zoom, back into Melbourne, calling in to Iain's house for some stuff. You drive out to Royal Park, near the zoo, where a bunch of people seem to be beating the crap out of each other. Anita is sitting on a log fence, as are a couple of the other people. Iain says that this is a Gangrel meeting before you get out, so don't offend anyone. You all get out and watch the action. Anita comes over and says hi, as 5 men pile onto Rachel. She throws 3 of them off before the remaining two knock her down. The three she threw off and Rachel move out of the scrum. Iain introduces you all again. He wants Rachel to taste Marisa's blood. He thinks that she might be able to help. Rachel bites Marisa and sucks, rolling the blood around in her mouth. Rachel's prognosis is that "We are cousins at best. You are not Gangrel." Rachel wanders back to a large group of Gangrel, and sits amongst them. Anita asks you to wait, and joins the group. You hear snatches of conversation. "He's done it again." "Insufferable arrogance" "..trying to control our movements...". They don't name names, but they don't sound happy either. The discussion breaks up and Anita comes over again and speaks you. She would like to take Marisa to visit someone who might be able to help with discovering who Marisa's sire is. The others can't come - its a clan thing, you wouldn't understand. Iain and Marisa agree, and Marisa gets into Anita's car while Iain watches the gangrel and thinks. * You both watch Marisa and Anita speak for a moment, then drive away. * Once they have gone, Iain tells you to get back in the car. He drives off a * short way and then parks in a side alley. You all get out and walk along a * back street for a bit. Iain stops at a drain, looks at it for a moment, then * bangs his boots on the metal drain cover, then keeps walking. He stops at a * grill, and opens it up. He jestures you inside and you both climb down the * ladder. At the bottom, its dank and humid. You walk along the sewer, half * crouched over, until you reach another ladder. You climb down that, and meet * Gareth, a Nosferatu. Iain speaks to Gareth (who apparently was a civil engineer * before his embrace. He doesn't act very civil.) and asks him to set someone to * watching Marisa's shop, to see if they can catch her Sire. Gareth tenatively * agrees, and there is a brief discussion of affairs. * You leave the same way that you came in. Once back near Iain's car, * it seems that someone has grown curious as to its contents. Ari rushes forward * to embrace such curiosity with Jasper, but nearly tears the door off with his * enthusiasm. The young man is drawn off into a darkened passage by Iain, who * takes a sanguinal approach to his curiousity. You head back to Iain's, in his * somewhat dinted car. Monday, 8th April. | You go to band rehearsal at Steve's. Its pretty cool, but nothing | startling. People give sympathy that you busted your bass and have to use | the electric one. | At some point during the night, you trip and fall on an old rusted | nail... it goes right through your hand and gives you excrutiating pain. It | takes ages before you can stop yourself from Frenzying, and you are quite | hungry by the end of it. | You ring Iain up, and he suggests for a quick meal that you feed | at Ambrosia's. While there, in the Labrys, you meat, sorry, meet Tanya and | Amanda, who are quite happy to be fed from by you. You don't have a | conversation afterwards about how they know you are a vampire, why they like | being fed from, and what the price will be. Next time, when you feed from | them, they have to feed from you. This was a freebie. | You head back to your house, meaning to pick up some bits and | pieces. | Once home, you can hear someone singing in the kitchen. There is | a note from Danielle on your door, along the lines of "gone on bonking | holiday, back soon, love and kisses." . There is also a note from Danielle | saying some guy called Kieran called, and wants you to ring him on this | number. | The singing is in fact from James, your other housemate. He is | shitfaced. He normally doesn't drink. He waves a piece of paper at you. | It seems he is HIV +. He then falls into his drink. | You carry him up to bed and make sure that he's ok. You leave a | note for Danielle, in case she comes back, then rush off to Iain's. You | ring Kieran. He wants to meet you at Southgate at 10pm, tomorrow. Tuesday 8th April. * The two of you go to Southgate and wander around. As you are * walking about, a guy steps out from a side corridor. He looks Marisa * right in the eye, bows, and offers her a rose. He has the weirdest eyes * you have ever seen - green bleeding out to a pale yellow. He whirls * back down the passageway and is gone. * People wander about in shock after this, but settle down next * to the Yarra by about 10pm. | You should go to the Arts Centre cafe, right now. * Jasper shambles along to the Arts Centre Caf, Marisa tagging * along behind. Jasper walks in and sees Kieran, who is sitting at a table. * Jasper breaks out of his trance. He says some choice words to Kieran * about not using those powers on him. Kieran basically says he'll do what * he wants, and why did Jasper bring Marisa. * Things do not go well. In the end, Kieran says he wants to meet * Jasper at Box Hill at this address at 8pm. Alone. * Jasper drives Marisa to her house where she feeds her cats * (who hate Jasper now) and gets a dress. You drive back to Iain's. | You see Ari's new suit and ask Iain about dress code. He says it | tends to be whole hog or none. Way cool. You ask him about Kieran, and | he says its probably easier to go with the flow as long as its not | inconveniencing you. Wednesday 10th April Everyone trundles off to the Concert Hall or Arts Centre, its really not important. Pedant. Humans and kindred are milling about the reception area and being friendly. Eventually everyone is asked to move up to the ballroom. Elevators take people upstairs. Much classical dancing is done. The waiters seem to know whom to being the haemoglobin enriched drinks to. There is a light undercurrent of tension, but generally everyone seems to relax. Kindred met during the evening: *Etienne. A tall thin man, elegant and graceful. Polite, gentlemanly and generally formal. *Sean. A tall young man, blond hair, wearing trenchcoat and looking a little uncomfortable. Friendly tho. *Sophia. A childer of Morgana's, a little asian girl, blond on the inside. Seemingly attached to Jasper. *Mark. A beatnik, with american accent. He apparently plays jazz, saxophone. He is bored. *Karen. A pale, blond floaty haired woman. Quiet. Seems to be friends with Mark. *Morgana. The toreador primogen. Dark haired, french woman. Elegant and polite, but perhaps a little shallow. She is seen to mingle with the right people. *Matthew. Mein elegant host. He moves around making sure that everyone has a good time, talking to them, being friendly. *Christopher. A large black man, apparently a Ventrue. Enjoying himself in a laid back and quiet way. *Mina. Another Ventrue. Appears to be a bit aloof, as if this is all a little below her. *Tom. Anofer souf londuner, he sits and talks with Jasper for a bit. It later turns out he is the nosferatu primogen. *Terry. A brujah of the old school. Foot long spiked hair. Events of the evening: * Etienne and Anita seem to vie for Marisa's attention. At one point Etienne introduces Marisa to Alex, in a bit of a faux pas. * Lord Alfred seems keen to intercede between the two of them, dancing with Marisa in a calm way. * Someone seems to try and come in through the elevator. Alex dispatches some security guards who deal with the man. * Mark and Karen ask about Jasper's music and express some interest in coming and seeing a gig. Jasper is playing at the Bot on Saturday, so he says to come along. Sunday 14th April. | You go to work, as per normal. About 8pm, the lights all go out on | the other side of the street. Marisa rocks in about 9pm, and says there is | no power in her house, and she frenzied at the candle and she couldn't tell | the priest that she was a vampire, and she thinks someone is watching her | house from the alley across the street. Uhuh. She leaves around 11:30. You | knock off work with Sam about 12:20 and wander back to Marisa's, make some | phone calls and then do something interesting and attentative. Monday April 15 | You go to band practice and people are still pretty happy about | the gig on Saturday. Gareth ('band leader') mentions that you have two | gigs this weekend, some place on Friday that said he was a friend of yours, | and their usual Saturday night gig. Tuesday 16th April | You get woken roughly by a grumpy Marisa, who tells you that there | is a phone call for you. Its Julie, who says that immigration were ringing | about looking for you today. You thank her and put the phone down. More | people start to ring you, saying that police/immigration are looking for you. | The police ring. They are making enquiries about a Mr Hanrahan, who has turned | up dead in the Yarra. They would like you to come to the Russell St station. | Now. You freak out a bit, goes to the Police, gives your statement and alabi | (quite a good one actually). Police mention that immigration wish to talk | about your work visa. You scream back to Marisa's house, to warn her she is | going to get a phone call from the Police. She says she already has had the | call. Visions of disaster are averted when she says she didn't tell the | detective the full truth. You thank her effusively, then screech off to the | movies with Sam, James, et al. | The movies finish, and on coming out, you see Karen at the bar. She | comes over and greets you, then asks to talk to you privately. She mentions | that quite a few kindred saw you argue with Hanrahan, and now he's turned up | dead, with a lot of blood missing. She just thought you'd like to know. | You go out for coffee with Sam, James, et al, and then back to Marisa's | chatting with her and Anita. * Anita goes home about 4, but arranges to pick you both up around * 7.30pm the next day. | You hunt around for an alarm clock, and finally give up and ask | Marisa for one. She seems to be looking for something under the bed, and gives | you a greasy look, but helps you find one. Wednesday 17th April | Something about a phone. It stops. Someone is shaking you. They | eventually go away. *yawn* Roll over. Wake up. Hey, its 7:15! Why didn't | the alarm clock go off. You run around getting ready (high Brujah formal). | Marisa seems really grumpy. * Anita turns up at 20 to 8 (wearing tails), and gets snapped at by * Marisa for being late; Jasper is frantically pulling on his boots and * hopping after them to keep up. Everyone gets into the car and you head * off for the Concert Hall. You park underground and go up to the 2nd level * in the lift. Lots of people milling about. | You head off and talk to Kieran. You are going to hand him the | written up proposal, but he says to wait until after to concert. * At this point, it should be mentioned that the current blood point * are as follows: * Marisa: 1 * Jasper: 3. * * The concert is beginning, so everyone moves to boxes. You are * intercepted by Etienne, who sits next to Marisa and tries to engage her * in witty conversation before the concert. Her answers seem a bit brusque. | You are sitting next to Anita, and notice that Anita seems to be | spending willpower on those self-control rolls. * The concert is quite good, as these things go. There is more chatting * in the interval, including a throwaway comment from Etienne about knowing * Mozart. * The concert continues for another 1hr, and finally finishes. Etienne * walks Marisa from the box, with Anita hovering behind, and Jasper wondering * who will Frenzy first. All the kindred who are here are moving into a sort * of reception area. * Etienne asks Marisa to come with him on a Yarra cruise after the * court, and Anita replies with "We're already busy". Marisa stops and says * "Are we? You didn't tell me." Etienne waves his hand and says "I'm sure it * can wait, tonight would be a beautiful night for a cruise." * Anita shirtfronts Etienne and yells "Listen, sword-boy." Etienne * uppercuts Anita, who flies back about 3 metres. He pulls a sword from * somewhere. Anita drops fangs, claws and shows her pretty red eyes to full * advantage. Vamps all around start pretending they've never met either of * these people before in their life. * Anita suddenly disappears, flying backwards, and intersects with * the wall. People start to pretend they've never met anyone here before in * their lives. Alex (MR Prince to you, neonate) cranks the Presence to Majesty, * and people start to fall to their knees. Marisa starts to run to Anita, but * Alex commands her to STOP (she nearly freezes solid). Alex 'Commands' Anita * to get out, which she scarpers to obey. He turns to Etienne and says "YOU * ought to know better." Etienne starts to argue, but then turns on his heel * and leaves, shredding a potplant on the way. * Alex says to Marisa (still radiating Majesty), "You. In here." | Alex half-drags Marisa to one of the boxes, and the door is shut. | Voices start up again in a hub-hub, and no-one seems keen to talk to you. | Marisa comes out and encounteres Madelaine on the way. She staggers | back to you. How comforting to not be alone. * Iain comes up and sits with you, but the rest of the kindred treat * them like a nossie at an art show. Iain seems intent on getting very drunk. | There are scattered whispers about you killing Hanrahan. You walk | up to Kieran and give him the proposal. He accepts it without much comment. | You talk to Mark and Karen and some other kindred whose names escape you for | a bit. * After a short while, Alex comes out with Marisa, and they sit on * the thron^H^H^H^H^H chairs up the end. They announce that Ari, Iain's * childe, has been a baaaaaad boy, (frenzied and left witnesses and a big mess * on King St) and that because Ari has not been formally released into Kindred * society, Iain is at fault too. * There is a brief hubhub. A man announced as Dominic Giovanni is said * to be keeping tabs on Ari until he recovers from his Torpor, at which point * the court will convene for sentance. * You flee as soon as possible, and travel back to Marisa's. Jasper and * Marisa get tetchier and tetchier and eventually Jasper storms out. | You drive around for a while, trying to cool off, ranting about | stupid females. | You finally drive out to Jell's Park. You go deep into the park and | go apeshit, riding the wave of the Frenzy. 2 bloodpoints now. Feelin' much | better after destroying 100m^2 of vegetation, you return to your car, and | finds that it has been parked in by what looks like Anita's car. You sit on | your bonnet and have a smoke. Two guys dressed like park rangers come out of | the park and start to look a bit threatening. You crank up the Presence, and | they ask you whether you have seen a gang of kids come this way, because | they've just destryed about 100m^2 of vegetation. You say no. | They say "So why are you here?" | You says "I am waiting for some friends. They have ducked away for a | romantic... walk." | They say "That could be dangerous" | You shrug. | | Anita and Marisa come back along FTG road now. The parkkeepers give | them a strange look (re: romantic walk comment), but leave. * All three of you have a short chat. Marisa apologises for * her comments. Jasper resists frenzying. Anita recommends to Jasper that * he feed on some cows. Jasper laughs at this suggestion. He tells the * others that he plans to go to Iain's that night. | You head back to Iain's house. He isn't there. You discover the | custard tart gun. Iain comes home and explains the benefits of leaving | people not 100% sure of yourself. | Thursday 18th April | You awaken (now on 1, count'em, 1 bloodpoint) and rush off to | work. There is a message on the Fridge from Iain, saying "Gone to | Sydenee, back Saturday." | Work is slowish. You're out in the kitchen when one of the other | waiters comes in and says there are some official looking people looking | for you, and he thinks they are immigration. You do a runner, immigration | guys chase. You spends his last blood point on celerity and gets away. | You goes back to Iain's. Iain still isn't there. You looks for some | blood, because Iain sometimes keeps some in an earthenware jar. You | finds the jar, smells the few drops in it and frenzies. You choose | to ride the wave rather than spend willpower resisting. You go out the | glass door, across the yard. You hear barking next door and goes through | the wall. Doggie barks twice and then becomes dog biscuit. You hear a little | girl say "What's that man doing to Fluffie?" Daddy runs out with baseball | bat, becomes lunch pretty quickly, little girl runs inside screaming for | Mummy. Little girl goes splat. Mummy runs down stairs, sees you, runs back | upstairs, splat. | You regain control in the bathroom... you are covered with blood | and there is blood and body parts all through the house. The little | girl is nowhere to be seen, you assume you have eaten her too. You set up | a gas explosion and runs for it as police sirens whine closer. You hear | a small explosion. At some point, you washes yourself off in a pond. | Eventually you end up in a hospital. They take your name, etc. 20 mins or | so later, some police turn up and take you somewhere. Its cold, and dark. | You go to sleep. Friday 19th April | Your day begins in a cell. You remember nothing of the day before. | Alex comes in with another kindred you don't recognise. (Bradley). Bradley | is carrying two shotguns. Alex sits down on one side of a table, with you | on the other side. Alex starts to use dominate on you ("Tell me what happened | last night"), but you break his hold. Alex starts again, and again, getting | a little further each time. When your memories reach the point where you run | towards the house, you frenzy, and get a single punch in on Alex before | Bradley empties both barells of both shotguns into you from quite close to | blank range. Ow. | You dream of the events of the previous eve. You cannot resist this | time because the GM wants to get something across to you so stop arguing you | bastard. You see the same events, except that you do not kill the little girl. | When you come to, you can't remember exactly what you did, just that it | was bad, and you owe Alex a favour and Iain an apology. Alex also tells you | that you should stay with Anita and feed everyday. | Marisa and Anita come and pick you up. How nice of them. They seem | worried. Thats nice of them too. You go to Marisa's and go to bed. You feel | tired for some reason. Saturday 20th April | Marisa comes and tells you that there is a phone call for you. | It is Gareth, who is yelling at you for missing last night's gig, and | you better be there tonight and tomorrow arvo. You are a bit vague and | Gareth ends the conversation with "Fuck you". | You try to clean up a bit, just to help out, you know. * Anita wakes up and does a "4 weddings and a funeral' impression. * She zooms downstairs and tells Marisa that she has to go. Marisa counters * with the incredibly witty "Where?". "Clan meeting" "Can we come?" Anita * considers. "Yes, actually, that would be good." * You zoom out to Studley Park. Anita tells you to wait in the * car while she sprints into the park. Marisa puts on the radio. A couple * of cars turn up, including a porsche. Rachel gets out of the porsche, * and struts down the same path as the others. * After a while, Anita comes back and says to come with her down * there. You travel down the path, and find about 15 kindred standing around, * including Travis and Caitlin and Derek. Rachel is sitting up one end, on * a park bench (but the word 'throne' is one that comes to mind). Anita says * to Jasper to go and talk with Rachel. * Jasper moves up to Rachel, who has Travis next to her. Travis looks * into his eyes and says "Tell me what you did Thursday." * Jasper: "No." * Travis: [dominate] "Tell me what you did." * J: [straightens up, looks his normal self] "I don't want to know." * [he sinks back down] * * Rachel stands up (she's 6' tall), and grabs Jasper by the shirt * front, lifts him off the ground. "Tell me what you did, or I'll tear your * arms off and beat you with them." * J: [straightens up] "I don't want to know!" * Rachel throws him to the ground. "You're contemptible. [to Anita] * Get him out of here." * Marisa runs up and tells Rachel she's not very nice. Rachel's * response is basically "...so?", but Marisa gets the last word, and she * spins around and helps Jasper to his feet and they walk off with Anita. * The rest of the night passes pretty quietly.... Sunday 21st April | The phone rings, so to be helpful, you rush down and get it. | Its Julie. She wants to come over. You say "ok". Marisa gets up and | gets ready to go to Church. Jasper tells her about Julie. She decides | to wait until Anita gets here. * Julie turns up and is escorted into the kitchen. Marisa hovers. * Julie asks Jasper how he is. * Jasper says "Fine". * Julie says "Feel like going for a walk?" Marisa says that Jasper * should stay here for the moment. Julie looks surprised that Jasper doesn't * argue. * There is a brief calm moment. Then Anita knocks on the door. With * almost palpable relief, Marisa rushes for the front door and lets her * in, and briefly explains the situation. Anita says "Cool, I'll babysit." * Marisa leaps onto her bike and hoons off to St Patricks. | Meanwhile, back in Brunswick St, Anita rushes upstairs and drops her | stuff, tells you she's going to open shop. You and Julie sit and talk for | a while, and Julie seems concerned that you are behaving very strangely. | She finally convinces you to come for a walk to Exhibition Gardens. | They stroll away, and Jasper says something like. "I can't tell | you what's wrong, Alex won't let me." | "Who's Alex" | "He's sort of the boss" | "Boss of who" | "Boss of us all" | "All" | "Marisa, Anita, me, everyone in Melbourne actually." | You start by saying you're in a new club, and then Julie asks if | its a cult or something. You say yes. Sort of. Julie tries to insist you | come and stay at her house for a while. More discussion about club/cult | as you enter Exhibition gardens. Julie stops and faces you, and you are | about to tell her you're a vampire when over Julie's shoulder you see | Rachel rise up from the earth. Rachel sees you and looks contemptuous, | and struts away. You freak a little, and Julie convinces you to come back | to her house for a while. | You and Julie trundle back to Marisa's, into Julie's car and to | St Kilda. You discuss the Jasper's situation. Julie tries to insist | that you stays with her, because Michael has gone to Launceston and | she doesn't want to be alone and she's worried about you. You decline, | and Julie loses her temper. | "Jasper, tell me what's going on right now! Or I'm going to ring the | police!" | "Don't do that." | "I mean it." Julie stands up. | "Alright..... I'm a vampire." | [pause] "Right, thats it." Julie goes to the phone, and starts to | dial. You try to argue with her, and suddenly Julie goes all submissive. | She tries to do stuff for you and you freaks. You run out the flat, Julie | chases. You finally gets away, and call Marisa and Anita. * Jasper is retrieved from St Kilda, and an explains what he did. * Both Marisa and Anita have a weird glint in their eyes. The night passed * uneventfully. Monday 22nd April * 9am. The Phone rings. * * 11am. The phone rings * * 12pm. The phone rings * * 1,2,3pm. The phone rngs * * 3:30pm. There is a knocking at the front door. * * 3:45pm. There is a knocking at the back door. * * 4pm. There is a loud thud and a scream from the bathroom. Marisa * and Jasper wake up. Marisa walks into the hallway. Screaming and sobbing * are emanating from the bathroom. | Marisa runs back into the bedroom. * The cries now increase in volume and the woman's voice starts * calling for Jasper. Jasper recognises the voice to be Julie. Dante * returns from his mission and demands a fish. He also tells Marisa that * there is a woman in the bathroom and that she has a broken leg and where's * this fish you promised me? * Marisa stalks up and down, tells Jasper to be quiet. She tries to * wake Anita up, but no such luck. Marisa pumps her strength and stamina, * makes a poncho, wraps her head up tightly and psychs herself up. | Marisa rushes into the hallway. * Marisa comes running in, carrying the screaming Julie. Her face * is revealed to be badly burnt, almost like sunburn (eerie, huh?). Marisa * feeds Julie two codeine tablets, and then tries to think what to do. * Julie is crying wildly for Jasper. Jasper tries to take over, Marisa * tells him to shutup, Julie tries to go to Jasper, and faints, Jasper * uses dread gaze on Marisa. * The next two hours pass, as Julie is unconscious, Marisa and Jasper * slowly sucumb to the day time slumber. * At about 6:30 you come to. There is much rushing around as Anita * finally wakes up and makes clucky noises over Marisa's face. It is agred * that you will give the hospital the story that she slipped and fell while * cleaning in the bathroom. Marisa rings the Ambulance. | While Marisa is ringing the ambulance, Anita tells you to slit | your wrist and feed Julie blood, because she will heal a lot faster that | way. Sounds good, so you do it. * The ambulance shows up and Jasper rides with them to the hospital. | You sit with Julie until her parents come in. Eventually the | prognosis is that it seems to be a clean break of the femur(?) and that she | will be out of work for a while. Julie will be going back to her parents' | house for some rest for at least a week, and will be healing for at least | 3 months, and she'd like to speak to Jasper. | Julie expresses her relief that you provided her with a cover | story, cos she feels somewhat stupid about the whole thing. She doesn't | know what came over her at all. You make soothing noises, and watch as | Julie is wheeled to her dad's car and off to Sandringham. You return | to Marisa's and spend a quiet night learning how to knit. Tuesday 23rd April. * The Tuesday starts off very quietly, at least according to my * notes. At about 10pm, Iain and Ari come in to the shop, with a little girl. * Iain stomps out to the kitchen, with the little girl. | Iain confronts you and says this is Alyssa, whose parents had an | accident last Thursday. Alyssa, this is Jasper. He's going to be taking | care of you from now on. Isn't he? | You are kind of happy about this situation, and try and thank Iain, | who seems more than a little pissed off. | You run back into the kitchen to see what you can do for Alyssa. Alyssa is spoiled rotten by Jasper. Marisa and Ari have their soon to be usual cold war argument. Ari stomps out and heads towards Brighton. Marisa talks to Anita about the Alyssa thing. Jasper rings Sam, and gets her to come and take care of Alyssa, who doesn't want to go. Thursday 25th April Anzac day. Everything should have been shut, but the GM forgot. | You sit around and babysit, having a slow night. Marisa opens | her shop. Its nice for a change. Nothing goes wrong. Anita comes over | and is somewhat squiffed. You vaguely wonder how she managed that. Her | and Marisa disappear off somewhere. After an hour or so, Sophia comes | over, tells you that Marisa told her where the two of you live. Well, | nearly an uneventful night. Sophia wants you to come clubbing. You say | you can't, because you are looking after a friend, Alyssa (yes, you did.) | Sophia seems a little surprised that you are looking after a mortal, but | peroxides away after a bit. In dreams, you're mine Feel all right We're together in dreams In beautiful dreams. And just before the dawn I awake to find you've gone I can't help it I can't help it if I cry Cos I remember that you said Good bye | You can see the chessboard. | | It stretches off to infinity.... yet you can sense the players, | drawing their pieces together in symbolic battle. | | You are off to the side of the board. | | White has woven a tight defense. Black probes gently against | the walls of this defense. Suddenly black launches an over the top | attack, their queen at the head. They pierce the defense of the pawns, | through the rook and are poised to take the bishop, and from there the | king. | | A piece is placed on the board. A grey king. With him. He blocks | the black queen, and a grey pawn takes the bishop, and becomes a queen. | The black queen and her accompanying pieces beat a hasty retreat from | the attack. The grey king and queen move to the centre of the board, | and are ringed by white and black pieces, each making moves against each | other, and trying to maneuver the grey king so that they can capture it. | | You feel yourself being lifted and being placed upon the board. | A black rook moves away from you, as if it caused you to be brought | upon the board. You are a black pawn. You follow the black rook for a | while, clearing its way ahead for it, and find yourself at the head of | an army. A black pawn nearby you throws a silver rope around a white | knight and the white knight rides through the centre of the board, | scattering pieces as they try not to be taken. The knights ride past, | and the grey king gives chase. You lead your army into the path of the | grey king, taking both grey and white pieces. Your black rook is taken | by a white rook, which then commands you to stop. You are stalemated, | a move from taking the grey queen. | | There is a jump, and you are returned to the start of the game. | You raise your army and they storm your black rook, and you fade to | grey. | | There is a jump, and you are returned to the start of the game. | A new pawn appears next to you, next to a piece black as night. Both the | night and the pawn disappear, and then you are taken. | | There is a jump, and you are returned to the start of the game. | A white pawn moves your way, but is then taken by the grey king. | | There is a jump. You are bitten by a black serpent, and die | of poison. | | There is a jump. Your army are led by you off the board against | a range of pieces, black as night, waiting in the wings of the board. | | There is a jump. You are crushed by a black hand. | | There is a jump. You return to the sun. | | There is a jump. You die. Saturday 27th April | You wake up in a fugue, after the chess dream. You wander down | and chat to Alyssa about Hey Hey Its Saturday. After a while, the phone | rings. Its Mr Kieran. He wants you to come to his offices at midnight, | sharp. You bargain with his good will and push it back to 1am, figuring | that you'd be pretty pushed for time if you didn't. He agrees reluctantly. | You get your stuff together as well as Alyssa and load it all | in the car and go and visit Julie. A brief and somewhat stilted discussion | is had with Julie before you decide to go and see a movie. | During the movie, Julie starts to inquire how you really are, and | stuff about that 'cult' you mentioned. You decide to talk to her in the | foyer about it. A brief chat ensues, and Julie decides she's like to go | home because her leg is hurting. You collect Alyssa and head off. | Once home, Alyssa is asleep, so you leave her in the car and | carry Julie into her room. Her parents are back, but asleep. You put her | on the bed, and kick something with your foot. Its a cricket stump, | sharpened at one end. Bending down, you see a stack of library books about | Vampires. Julie acts all embarassed and says that her mum got them for | her, mistaking the "weirdo" section for the fiction section. There is | also a couple more wickets and a cricket bat. Julie says they are from | when her brother used to play. You smile and nod and run. | You head home and drop Alyssa off in bed (its your night for | carrying helpless women, isn't it?). You rush off to Kieran's. He grabs | some plans up and shows you around Nunbnnbnbnwadddng. Exciting, what? | It ends up there are 3 sites for the Youth Centre. One is big, | but too far from the train station. The next one was close to the train | station, but too small. The third one was just right. You start looking | out for bears. It is a bit smaller than you'd prefer, but has easily | sectionable-off areas, its near McDonald's and miles from easy access | to residential homes. Enough parking, given its an all-ages place. Way | cool, huh? You tell Kieran this one, he notes down the address and makes | a brief phone call. | You suggest that he should get the government in on the deal, | especially the welfare departments. Kieran makes noises about not wanting | to let other Kindred in on it at all. You convince him to make an | appointment for you (Tuesday). You go home asap.
