Glorantha Con DownUnder

Once upon a time, there was a place of great beauty and expectation. Long was the hair of all who came, and bright were their eyes, and extensive was their canteen. But the place was not beloved of the gods, who had placed a curse upon this place. This place was called GloranthaCon DownUnder.

Some knew of this curse, and burned sacrifices to the gods of Sawsage and Hamburger. But the gods were not sated, and their anger grew. First they visited GloranthaCon with flood, and verily was the floor awash in water. And great was the dismay of those who looked upon the water, for they had left cardboard boxes on the floor. But then there was a mop upon the water, and there was Hugh, who swept the water from the floor. Others warned of another flood, so the Council of Organisers took their people to higher ground, where they once again raised their crops of coffee and buns, and the commemerative t-shirts were many, and well designed.

Among the people were those who would organise the people into a great celebration. And many amongst these were many who knew of the curse of the gods, and they held council to determine whether the gods would strike at their people again. The council decreed that the gods were satisfied, and the celebration would continue.

And the people dressed in their costumes of red, and their armor, and went forth to celebrate. But the gods were not satisfied, and this time they sent fire, and divers alarums, and the people were forced to flee their high ground into the floods once more. Many of the people had believed the council, and had dressed without care for the flood, let alone the fire.

Yet, as Hugh with his mop had come before, now came Jonathan to save the people. And the word of Jonathan was powerful, and he brought forth the Heavy Rescue, who came unto the place where the gods sent fire. And the Heavy Rescue did say the words of power - "It was a false alarm" and they did take the power from the alarums of the gods. And verily, the people did return to their celebration, and all was well again
